Star Trek: Legacy Can Continue Picard & TNG's Story
The finale of Star Trek: Picard season 3 provided a satisfying conclusion for Admiral Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise-D. However, this does not mean that all of their stories have come to an end. In fact, Picard's ending has paved the way for a potential spinoff titled Star Trek: Legacy, featuring Captain Seven of Nine (played by Jeri Ryan) commanding the USS Enterprise-G. Joining Captain Seven will be Ensign Jack Crusher (portrayed by Ed Speleers), the son of Admiral Picard and Dr. Beverly Crusher (played by Gates McFadden), as well as Sidney (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) and Alandra La Forge (Mica Burton), the daughters of Commodore Geordi La Forge (played by LeVar Burton). The iconic character Q (played by John de Lancie) will also make an appearance and subject Jack Crusher to a trial, similar to what he did with Picard.
Star Trek: Legacy aims to focus on the "next Next Generation," while leaving the opportunity for legacy actors from Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) to join the spinoff. The TNG cast members have expressed their interest in returning for Star Trek: Legacy, with Jonathan Frakes suggesting that Admiral William Riker could become Captain Seven's commanding officer. This would allow Frakes to contribute as both an actor and director. With Star Trek: Legacy, it is hoped that the spirit of exploration that was ignited 36 years ago with Star Trek: The Next Generation can continue, allowing fans to relive every memorable moment with The Picard Legacy Collection.
