Part 1 of the Area Zero expansion pack for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet introduced new school uniforms and accessories. Trainers can explore the land of Kitakami in the Teal Mask DLC, where they will embark on a fresh adventure, encounter new characters, and have the opportunity to capture more Pokemon. Upon obtaining a specific key item, players can purchase new accessories from Paldea's stores. As trainers progress through the Teal Mask's story, they will eventually unlock festival masks, which are not immediately available for purchase by Scarlet/Violet trainers.

Can You Get Festival Masks Before Completing Teal Mask's Story?

After discovering the second signpost and defeating Kieran at the Ogre's Den on Oni Mountain, players will receive an invitation to the Festival of Masks at Kitakami Hall. Once this occurs, they should visit Carmine and Kieran's house. This will grant access to a new outfit called the Festival Jinbei (Green), a fresh hairstyle, and the Teal Style Card from Kieran and Carmine's grandmother. The Teal Style Card is a valuable item that allows trainers to obtain new hairstyles and clothing in Paldea.

Before heading to Kitakami Hall, trainers will need to face Carmine in battle. Unfortunately, purchasing masks during the festival itself is not possible. However, starting from the next day, trainers can return to Kitakami Hall and buy various masks from a vendor.

Festival Masks Location

To summarize, although players have the opportunity to acquire a festival mask prior to completing the DLC story, they will not be able to purchase them during the actual festival. If the vendor's speech bubble does not display a yellow color, indicating that the masks are available for sale, it is advised to progress further in the story and then revisit Kitakami Hall for another attempt.

Locating the festival masks stall is quite effortless. It can be easily spotted as the third stall on the right, starting from the entrance gate. Trainers are guaranteed not to overlook it. Additionally, the text bubble will not be displayed in yellow during the initial night of the festival. Fortunately, once this segment of the story is completed, trainers will have the freedom to visit the stalls at any given time in Kitakami.

Tab over to the hat icon, and scroll down to the purchased mask.

Select A to wear it, then press B-button to exit, or (+) to change the physical look of the player character.
