Starfield fans have been finding powerful weapons with random perks since the game's release in September, adding to the excitement and gameplay experience.
The loot system in Starfield functions in a manner akin to Fallout 76, where weapons and equipment are categorized based on their rarity tiers and feature randomly generated effects.
Introducing the Shattering Overcharged Advanced Magshear, an incredibly potent automatic rail carbine capable of delivering catastrophic damage exceeding 4,000 DPS. However, it possesses a constraint in the form of a restricted magazine capacity.
A Starfield player recently discovered a highly potent rail carbine that effortlessly obliterates any adversary. This fortunate acquisition adds to the growing list of remarkable equipment that Starfield fans have been obtaining since the game's release in early September.
In line with Fallout 76, Bethesda's latest RPG employs a loot system that divides weapons and equipment into three tiers of rarity, each with up to three randomly generated effects. While this approach sometimes results in incongruous perks and useless items, it also has the potential to yield incredibly powerful Starfield weapons, assuming the player has the luck on their side.
Reddit user HrafnHaraldsson can confirm this fact as they recently acquired a highly powerful automatic carbine rifle. This rifle, known as the Shattering Overcharged Advanced Magshear, has a fire rate of 345, which means it can release 34.5 projectiles every second. With each bullet causing 79 physical damage, the Magshear guarantees an impressive 2725.5 points of base damage per second. However, its actual DPS is even higher due to the Furious effect, which increases damage with consecutive hits.
Not only does this rifle have the Furious effect, but it also benefits from the Shattering trait, allowing it to ignore enemy armor. Additionally, its third perk randomly adds incendiary damage to its rounds, which complements the high rate of fire. The combination of these traits results in the weapon easily surpassing 4,000 DPS. Furthermore, the Furious effect ensures that the damage scales with the toughness of the enemy.
The magazine size of the immensely powerful Starfield weapon is its only drawback. Similar to all Magshears, the renowned rifle wielded by HrafnHaraldsson is equipped with a clip capable of holding only 75 bullets, resulting in it running empty within seconds. However, this limitation is not a significant disadvantage in practice, as the majority of enemies in the game will have been eliminated by the time the player exhausts a full Magshear magazine on them.
Fortunately, obtaining such a weapon through sheer luck is not the sole method to inflict substantial damage in Bethesda's interstellar RPG. This is largely due to the availability of numerous exceptional heavy weapons that Starfield players can always discover at predetermined locations throughout their journey.
Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
