Highlights
The future of the One Piece series has become a subject of speculation among fans due to recent developments in the latest chapters. One of the main highlights includes the unfortunate capture and severe injuries suffered by the iconic character, Monkey D. Garp, at the hands of the formidable Blackbeard Pirates.
Blackbeard is actively implementing his plans to attain power and control, which involve ambushing the Heart Pirates and taking Koby captive.
Driven by a strong determination to safeguard his loved ones and fueled by his enhanced abilities, Luffy might impulsively come to his grandfather's rescue, ready to confront Blackbeard in a decisive battle between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates.
The Final Saga of One Piece has reached an intense climax, leaving fans puzzled about the implications of recent events. In Chapter 1088, the Marines of SWORD saved Captain Koby from the clutches of the Blackbeard Pirates but were forced to leave behind the esteemed Marine, Monkey D. Garp, who was gravely injured.
Word quickly spread about Garp's capture, along with the news of the siege on Egghead Island. On this island, the Emperor of the Sea, Straw Hat Luffy, took refuge in Dr. Vegapunk's laboratory. In Chapter 1089, it was revealed that the Straw Hats had successfully subdued Vegaunk's satellite, York, who had betrayed the scientist and formed an alliance with the Five Elders in order to become a Celestial Dragon.
Given the circumstances with Garp now being held by the Blackbeard Pirates, it is highly likely that Luffy will rush to his grandfather's aid and confront Blackbeard. However, the exact outcome of this confrontation remains uncertain.
The Hero Of The Marines In Jeopardy
After defying orders from Marine Headquarters, Garp urgently headed to Hachinosu, the stronghold of the Blackbeard Pirates, in order to rescue his student Koby. Koby, a young Marine Captain and member of SWORD, had willingly surrendered himself in place of the Marines who had gone to the island of Amazon Lily to capture the notorious Pirate Empress Boa Hancock. Accompanied by Helmeppo and a small group of Marines, Garp made a dramatic entrance at Hachinosu, unleashing a powerful attack that decimated a large portion of the city. This display of Garp's true strength was a first in the world of One Piece.
During the ensuing clash, the Marines successfully freed most of their comrades who had been taken hostage by the Blackbeard Pirates. However, Garp experienced a setback when, as the Marines began retreating, Koby fell for a cunning trick played by a member of Blackbeard's crew. The pirate disguised themselves as a damsel in distress to attract Koby's attention.
Blackbeard's Schemes In Motion
Shiryu of the Rain, who had been concealing himself with his Suke Suke no Mi abilities, seized the opportunity to strike as the brave Marine rushed into the chaos to rescue her. Fortunately for Koby, Garp swiftly recognized the impending danger and intercepted the attack, sacrificing his well-being to protect his student. Sustaining grave injuries, Garp valiantly instructed his subordinates to overcome the relentless onslaught of the Blackbeard Pirates while he himself remained incapacitated. The newspapers of the following day would report him as missing in action, leaving his current fate shrouded in uncertainty.A true opportunist at heart, Blackbeard has always been scheming to rise to the top of the pirate world. From assassinating Thatch to obtain the Yami Yami no Mi, to raiding Impel Down and forming a formidable crew, and ultimately stealing Whitebeard's powerful Gura Gura no Mi after the great pirate's demise during the Summit War of Marineford, Marshall D. Teach has consistently demonstrated his inclination to acquire power through deceitful methods. This stands in stark contrast to individuals like Luffy, who only seek victories that are earned.
Blackbeard waited to ambush the Heart Pirates on Winner Island, driven by his desire to obtain a Road Poneglyph from the crews who had left Wano Country after the Raid on Onigashima. He aimed to acquire the marking following Big Mom and Kaido's defeat. Although Teach defeated Law, Bepo, the navigator, saved the Surgeon of Death by using his Sulong Form to help them escape from Blackbeard's clutches.
Moreover, Blackbeard held Koby hostage in an effort to establish his authority over Hachinosu and gain recognition from the World Government. With Garp, a renowned Marine of higher rank and global hero, now under his crew's control, he possesses even greater leverage to negotiate with the World Government and achieve his desires.
Luffy's Resolve To Protect His Family
Blackbeard underestimated Luffy's significant increase in strength after defeating Kaido and his strong determination to protect his loved ones, especially after losing his beloved brother Ace at Marineford. Before the Marineford War, Ace, who was both Luffy's sworn brother and the son of the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger, engaged in a battle with Blackbeard on Banaro Island due to Blackbeard's involvement in the killing of Thatch. Blackbeard emerged victorious and handed Ace over to the Marines in exchange for becoming one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
Now, Garp finds himself in a similar predicament where his life is in danger, and there is a possibility of him being turned over to the Cross Guild in exchange for the substantial bounty on his head. It is highly likely that Luffy will come to his grandfather's rescue. Considering the diminishing power and authority of the World Government, it is unlikely for them to openly intervene and save Garp, especially due to the deep animosity between Garp and Akainu following the events at Marineford.
A last-ditch effort by Garp loyalists in SWORD remains a possibility. Additionally, a long-awaited clash between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates has been anticipated for some time now. Garp's capture provides the perfect opportunity for Luffy to demonstrate his newly acquired abilities and test the limits of Gear 5 against the formidable twin Devil Fruit powers wielded by Blackbeard.
