In episode 7 of the 2023 season of Goosebumps, Nora finds herself being chased by Biddle into the mountains, while the real Mr. Bratt helps the group of teenagers come up with an escape plan. Throughout the show, the plot takes an unexpected turn, leaving the heroes stranded in a mysterious location. However, despite their predicament, Goosebumps manages to unveil several revelations, particularly concerning the murder of Harold Biddle. The group of teenagers, including Isaiah, James, Margot, Lucas, and Isabella, are haunted by supernatural events after exploring the supposedly abandoned Biddle home and coming into contact with cursed items. Meanwhile, the spirit of Harold Biddle possesses their new high school teacher, Mr. Bratt, and continues to torment the teens using his body.
Eventually, the reason behind Biddle's quest for revenge against this particular group of teenagers is revealed in Goosebumps. As the story progresses, it is unveiled that Biddle was a victim of bullying by their parents. This revelation occurs when Biddle's ghost possesses Mr. Bratt, allowing him to narrate his backstory to the teens. In episode 6 of Goosebumps, titled "Night of the Living Dummy," it becomes evident that their parents were actually friends with Harold, and it was Harold's sentient ventriloquist's dummy, Slappy, that drove him into a state of paranoia. Convinced by Slappy, Harold committed the tragic act of murdering his parents after being convinced that his friends were plotting against him, leading to his untimely demise.
10. Mr. Bratt Revealed His Real Identity
In Goosebumps episode 6, Mr. Bratt recounts the chilling tale of Harold Biddle's demise. It is revealed that Harold tragically perished when his friends broke into his residence, stole Slappy, and unintentionally caused a fire in the process. As episode 7, "Give Yourself Goosebumps," commences, Mr. Bratt shocks the teenagers by disclosing that he is actually the ghost of Harold Biddle in disguise before mysteriously disappearing before their very eyes. Overwhelmed by fear, the teens embark on a frantic quest to find an escape route out of the Biddle house, but their efforts prove futile. It becomes increasingly apparent that Harold's supernatural abilities transcend their initial understanding.
9. The Heroes Got Trapped In Biddle’s Scrapbook
Much like Margot getting trapped in Biddle’s scrapbook during the events of “Reader Beware,” all the teenagers find themselves stuck in the book in “Give Yourself Goosebumps.” Isaiah, Margot, Lucas, Isabella, and James lose all hope of a quick escape when they discover that the front door of the house opens to a dark and mysterious void. As if things couldn't get any worse, Biddle’s ghost takes control of Bratt’s body and sends text messages to their parents, pretending that they are occupied. While Harold is on the hunt for Slappy, the main antagonist of Goosebumps, our heroes are left in a trance-like state.
8. Nora Got Out of the Asylum (And Met Harold)
After being trapped in an asylum during episodes 5 and 6, Nora is finally released. She confronts Isabella's mother, her former friend, about her attempts to drug her. However, she is unable to provide evidence to support her concerns regarding Biddle's potential return. As Nora is leaving the hospital, she is confronted by Bratt, who is now possessed by Biddle. Bratt demands to know the location of Slappy, but Nora manages to evade him. Nevertheless, the villain tracks her down to her house, as he continues his search for the doll.
7. Nora Still Owns Slappy
Upon her return to the diner, Nora immediately sets out to locate a hidden duffel bag in her garage. To her surprise, she discovers that Slappy, the antagonist from Goosebumps episode 6, has been sitting disassembled in her garage for all these years. Determined to eliminate any chances of Biddle catching up to her, Nora swiftly grabs the doll and makes a run for it. However, her progress is hindered by an exasperated Colin, who demands an explanation for her actions. Frustrated by the lack of clear answers, Colin decides to seek advice from Isaiah's father.
6. Biddle Followed Nora To The Mountains
Colin, in the process of venting about his love life to Isaiah's dad, accidentally reveals that Nora is taking Slappy's remains to her mountain cabin. This sudden revelation prompts Isaiah's father to immediately leave and warn the rest of their old friend group. Meanwhile, Biddle decides to follow Nora into the mountains, in his relentless pursuit of Slappy. As the teenagers strive to elude the cursed scrapbook and make their escape, they encounter yet another character.
5. Bratt Was Trapped in the Scrapbook Too
The real Mr. Bratt, who is trapped inside the scrapbook along with the teens, initially struggles to convince them that he is indeed the real Mr. Bratt, as they have encountered Biddle's ghost within his body several times. After earning their trust, Mr. Bratt, the timid teacher, assists the teenagers in devising an escape plan. However, he is dismayed when the kids decide to use the house's upholstery as a rope to rappel down into the abyss, despite his efforts to restore their hope.
4. Isabella Climbed Out of the House
Contrary to Isaiah's objections, it is Isabella who ventures out of the house's entrance, embarking on a journey through the eerie recollections expertly depicted in Biddle's scrapbook illustrations. These haunting visuals capture a puppet audience within the high school auditorium, with an unexpected appearance by former President Bill Clinton. When the group eventually pulls her back to safety, Isabella and Isaiah share a heartfelt and romantic moment. Previous episodes of Goosebumps, 1-5, alluded to a potential connection between Isaiah and Margot, but this particular excursion clarifies that Margot exhibits a stronger chemistry with Lucas, while Isaiah is a more suitable match for Isabella.
3. Bratt Got His Body Back (Briefly)
Bratt assists the group in lowering Isabella into darkness, but as the rope nearly comes loose, he is forcefully slammed into a wall. Suddenly, Bratt finds himself momentarily transported back into his own body, only for Biddle's ghost to swiftly reclaim control. This prompts Bratt to believe that pain serves as the conduit to return to his true self and the actual world. Unfortunately for Bratt, this grants Isabella the freedom to strike him in an attempt to bring him back into his body.
2. The Group’s Parents Finally Learned The Truth
In the upcoming episodes of Goosebumps in 2023, we can expect the teenagers and their parents to come together once again to confront Biddle and Slappy. This upcoming conclusion is initiated in the episode "Give Yourself Goosebumps." While Bratt strives to regain control over his own body, the parents of the group finally recognize Biddle's return and acknowledge Nora's correct assessment of his plan. As James' mother and Isaiah's father encounter a clone of James in their family's former mine, they are compelled to accept the existence of paranormal activities.
1. Biddle’s Scrapbook Fell in a Puddle
As "Give Yourself Goosebumps" nears its conclusion, Biddle's hold over the teenagers appears to be weakening. Bratt regains his physical abilities and bravely begins to devise an escape route from the scrapbook for the heroes of the show, despite Biddle's objections. But just as Bratt appears to be on the cusp of triumph, Biddle's spirit seizes control of the teacher's body once again and hurls the scrapbook into a nearby puddle. This action causes the scrapbook to dissolve, plunging the main characters of the 2023's Goosebumps into an abyss of darkness as the room around them fades into nothingness.
