Mission: Impossible 7's Lengthy & Complicated Production Explained
The production process for the latest Mission: Impossible movie has been a lengthy and complicated one, with the COVID-19 pandemic posing significant challenges. Filming began in February 2020 but was halted the following month due to safety concerns. When production resumed, an audio recording of Tom Cruise's impassioned speech went viral, in which he urged crew members to follow COVID-19 safety protocols. The incident generated mixed reactions online, but many in Hollywood supported Cruise's stance.
While the film's biggest stunt went off without a hitch, the train stunt encountered some difficulties. Director McQuarrie had initially planned to shoot the scene in Poland, but the required destruction of a World War II-era bridge sparked protests, petitions, and a lawsuit. The sequence was ultimately shot in the UK using a less historically significant bridge. Despite numerous delays and on-set challenges, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is now complete and poised for its premiere.
