Following the unveiling of additional gameplay footage at Tokyo Game Show 2023, an official blog post was published, addressing fan inquiries regarding Red XIII's battle movements when the character becomes fully playable.
During a dedicated stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2023, Square Enix divulged a wealth of new information about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Fans were treated to an extensive gameplay preview of the action RPG sequel, featuring Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII traversing grasslands outside of Midgar. In addition to showcasing the process of catching and riding chocobos, the preview emphasized Red XIII's role, highlighting the character's chocobo-riding abilities and combat techniques in enemy engagements.
On the Square Enix website, the team has provided in-depth information about Red XIII's fighting style in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. According to the post, Red XIII adopts a unique approach to battles by being "aggressively defensive" compared to other party members. Players can activate Red XIII's "Vengeance Mode" during combat, increasing his attack power and movement speed. This mode's gauge fills up when Red XIII successfully guards against enemy attacks, and players can activate it as long as there is Vengeance remaining in the gauge.
Square Enix provides a list of Red XIII's battle abilities, which can be activated using ATB charges. These abilities, such as Sidewinder, Sentinel Stance, Stardust Ray, and Crescent Claw, are learned by the character as the game progresses. Additionally, Red XIII has several Limit Breaks, including Bloodfang and Howling Moon, which can be used when the Limit Break gauge is full. As for the new Synergy Abilities in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Red XIII has Planetary Roar with Aerith, Savage Assault with Cloud, and Overfang with Barret.
Fans eagerly await the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, especially those who are excited to have full control over Red XIII. The sequel to the remake also includes new mini-games, story content, and other exciting features. Hopefully, Square Enix delivers and fulfills the fans' expectations in this highly anticipated video game.
