Shax offered to help Furfur ascend if he possessed any knowledge of a demon engaging in virtuous acts on Earth. Furfur, intrigued by this prospect, employed three recently deceased Nazis as his spies. Informed by the Nazis themselves that their demise was linked to Crowley and Aziraphale, Furfur dispatched them back to Earth as zombies for a duration of 24 hours. This mission aimed to uncover evidence of Crowley collaborating with an angel. In doing so, Furfur hoped to secure the Nazis' salvation and liberate them from their grotesque punishments in eternal damnation.

Furfur's History With Crowley & "Miracle Blocker" Plan Explained

: Furfur, a character hailing from Hell in Good Omens, has roots in mythology. As a formidable Great Earl of Hell, Furfur commands 26 legions of demons. Infamous for his deceitful nature, Furfur's honesty can only be coerced by confining him within a magical triangle. Furfur possesses a range of abilities, including the ability to foster love between individuals, generate storms, thunder, lightning, and tempests, as well as impart knowledge on secret and divine matters. Notably, Furfur is one of the 72 demons featured in the Ars Goetia, one of the five books composing The Lesser Key of Solomon, alongside Shax.

Upon learning that Crowley was likely collaborating with an angel on Earth, Furfur devised a plan to procure the concrete evidence he needed by reanimating the recently deceased Nazis as zombies. Concerned about the possibility of Aziraphale employing his angelic powers against them, one of the Nazis inquired about the potential consequences. Furfur reassured them, claiming to possess the qualifications of an authorized miracle blocker, and assured them not to worry. When summoned during Aziraphale and Crowley's magic performance, Furfur seized the evidence and activated his miracle-blocking abilities, inadvertently placing both the angel and the demon in grave peril.

Furfur, upon arriving at Aziraphale's changing room, revealed to Crowley that they had previously crossed paths in the same legion and even fought alongside each other many years ago.
