Titled "Beloved," this episode reveals shocking moments, such as the unexpected return of G'iah, who was fatally shot in the previous episode, and the tragic demise of Talos the Skrull. However, amidst these developments, Marvel Studios subtly confirms a major theory about the show that could greatly impact the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although Secret Invasion is set apart from the other events occurring in the MCU, Marvel Studios reintroduces familiar characters and incorporates them into Nick Fury's latest mission. One of these characters is Rhodey, who has become a prominent political figure since the conclusion of the Infinity Saga. As Secret Invasion progresses and focuses on Gravik's attempt to kidnap President Ritson, it never returns to the revelation that Rhodey is a Skrull in episode 4.
Nevertheless, Kevin Feige later provides some new information about Rhodey's situation. While not giving specific details, the Marvel Studios executive implies that he has been replaced for a longer period than most people would assume. Feige suggests that it would be interesting for fans to revisit previous appearances of Rhodey and realize that it was not actually him. This is noteworthy since Rhodey only appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier within the Multiverse Saga before his role in Secret Invasion. If Feige's statement is accurate, it implies that Rhodey may have been a Skrull during the entirety of the Infinity Saga.
