The show had seen a lack of updates in recent months, leading to concerns among fans that it may be cancelled due to Disney CEO Bob Iger's discussion of content cutbacks on Disney+. However, head writer and executive producer Jeff Trammel reassured fans via Twitter that the show is still in the works, promising that the crew has put in a lot of effort to make Freshman Year special, fun, and unique for viewers.

I can't share anything just yet, but I'm really excited for everyone to see the show. Our crew has put in a lot of hard work to make Freshman Year something special, enjoyable, and unique, and I can't wait for the world to see it! https://t.co/wANQ3jfskB

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man trailer – Is there a trailer?

Sadly there’s no trailer for this Spider-Man animated series yet, and since the show is only in early production, we probably won’t get one until next year.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man plot – What will happen in the show?

The story of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is shrouded in mystery, but it is known to be set during Peter Parker's early high school years, marking the beginning of his Spider-Man journey. Inspired by the Silver Age Spider-Man comics, the series will feature appearances from superheroes like Doctor Strange and Daredevil. Peter will also encounter iconic adversaries such as Doctor Octopus and Chameleon, with Norman Osborn serving as his mentor.

It appears that this series may not be included in the MCU, but with the similarities, it could be another version of Spider-Man from a different multiverse.

That's all the information we have about Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. In the meantime, take a look at our other superhero hubs below:

Editor's P/S

As a long-time Spider-Man fan, I am thrilled about the upcoming animated series "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." The concept of returning Peter Parker to high school and exploring his early days as Spider-Man is both nostalgic and exciting. The fact that the series will be set during the Silver Age of comics adds an extra layer of authenticity and charm. I can't wait to see how the writers and animators bring this classic era of Spider-Man to life.

The inclusion of characters like Doctor Strange, Daredevil, Doctor Octopus, and Chameleon promises a diverse and engaging storyline. It will be interesting to see how these characters interact with Peter Parker and how they contribute to his growth as a superhero. The choice of Hudson Thames to voice Spider-Man is also a wise one, as he has already proven his talent in the role in "Marvel's What If...?" Overall, I have high hopes for "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" and believe it has the potential to be a truly special addition to the Spider-Man animated universe.
