In Starfield, players assume the role of a space cop in the UC Vanguard missions. However, not all quests involve exciting pursuits of criminals or engaging in spaceship dogfights. One such mission is the Search and Seizure, where players are tasked with examining records and inspecting cargo.
To unlock this mission in Starfield, players must first complete the Eyewitness and A Break At Dawn missions after joining the UC Vanguard on New Atlantis. Although relatively straightforward, this mission offers potential additional advantages based on players' decisions.
Search and Seizure Walkthrough
To initiate the Search and Seizure mission, approach Sergeant Yumi at the UC Security Office located in New Atlantis, near the spaceport. Upon conversing with him, he will inform you about the presence of potential smugglers entering and exiting the spaceport. Your next task will be to engage with the port workers for further information.
Head outside where you will spot two port workers in close proximity, indicated on the HUD. One of them will have nothing significant to share, while the other will disclose that the crew of cargo ship UC-576B has raised suspicions. Regrettably, the worker cannot recall the ship's name, necessitating you to retrieve it from Aegis.
Take the transport car to MAST District and proceed to the Defense Research/Health and Human Services/Aegis floor using the elevator on the left. Once there, approach Agent Plato to obtain the Potential Smuggler Ships slate.
Navigate to the inventory and read the slate, which can be found under either the New or Notes categories, to identify that the ship's name is the Anansi. Return to Sergeant Yumi and inform him of the precise name mentioned in the ship list. It is crucial not to provide any alternative ship name, as doing so will prematurely conclude the quest. Sergeant Yumi will then instruct you to seize the illegal cargo from the Anansi.
To access the Anansi ship, which will be located outside the spaceport, simply board it and proceed to the ship's cargo hold by climbing the ladder. However, it is important to note that taking the contraband will prompt Captain Ndiaye to propose a proposition: a payment of 2,500 in exchange for lying about the incident and allowing them to escape.
Players have the option to either accept the deal and leave the ship peacefully or engage in a conflict with the Anansi crew members in order to seize the contraband and gain access to additional loot from the ship. Upon obtaining the contraband, players are advised to deliver it to Sergeant Yumi to receive a minimum of 3,300 Credits, although the amount may vary depending on their level.
Alternatively, players may choose to deceive Sergeant Yumi by retaining the contraband while still receiving the reward for completing the quest. However, in order for this decision to be worthwhile, they must find a secure hiding place for the contraband and engage in the careful process of selling it.
Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
