In Starfield, players will come across numerous side quests and missions that will put their character's skills to the test. These quests often require players to make tough choices in order to achieve the best possible outcome, which can be challenging to determine in the moment.
One of the initial missions available to players is titled "Back To The Grind". In this mission, players must help their character successfully complete an application and interview process to secure a job at Ryujin Industries. To ensure success in this quest for employment, and to navigate any potential consequences of aligning with a morally ambiguous company in Starfield, follow these guidelines.
How To Succeed At The Application Stage
The adventure known as "Back To The Grind" commences as players encounter one of Ryujin Industries' interactive kiosks. Captivated by the melodious voice emanating from the machine, luring them to be part of this prosperous corporate realm, they are beckoned to embark on a thrilling journey. Initiating the process requires the character to simply approach the captivating kiosk and complete the requisite employment application form.
Despite the extensive questioning that takes place during this process, there are no predetermined correct or incorrect answers in the application. In truth, the player's responses hold no influence whatsoever on the final outcome. The primary distinction lies in the way the interviewer will ask their questions, thus selecting the least favorable responses may be met with some amusing disbelief.
How To Succeed At The Interview Stage
In order to participate in their interview, players must travel to Neon and reach a player level of five. Once they have met the receptionist and been directed to Imogen's office, players will encounter the Ryujin representative, who does not seem particularly thrilled about conducting the interview. Just like with the application process, the player's responses do not affect the ultimate result.
How To Deal With Tomo
Imogen lacks interest as she conducts the interview alone, resulting in the space explorer being hired despite giving unimpressive answers. As their inaugural task at Ryujin, players must visit Neon's Terrabrew coffee shop to collect the order for the senior executives.
In the midst of a seemingly uneventful mission, players unexpectedly encounter a disgruntled former employee of Ryujin who has been replaced by the space explorer they currently assume. Tomo, the former employee, confronts the player with a gun, presenting two potential outcomes. The first option involves successfully calming Tomo down and diffusing the situation. The second option escalates the confrontation, resulting in the demise of the ex-employee.
Regardless of the chosen outcome, Ryujin remains unaffected and Imogen, the supervisor, commends the player by promoting them to the position of junior operative for effectively handling the situation. Therefore, when it comes to dealing with Tomo, personal preference plays a significant role. However, it is important to consider the impact of this decision on any active companions who may potentially alter their opinion of the player.
