The premiere of Love Has Won, a new cult documentary series on Max, sheds light on the death of its leader, Amy Carlson, also known as "Mother God." As the number of documentaries exploring cults and their manipulative leaders continues to grow, these films often delve into the activities and influence of recent or ongoing groups. Some notable examples include The Vow, which examines the NXIVM sex cult, and Escaping Twin Flames, which focuses on the Twin Flames Universe.
Viewers may gain insight into the present state of affairs by posing "why" questions instead of "what" questions. The society has undergone a shift, with social media significantly impacting our lives and economic inequality reaching unprecedented levels. Ultimately, many individuals who become a part of these groups are in search of meaning and purpose. This vulnerability opens avenues for cult leaders like Amy Carlson, also known as Mother God, to manipulate and control their followers. However, it is also this vulnerability that leads to her ultimate downfall. Caution: Some individuals may find the content distressing.
Love Has Won: How did Amy Carlson die?
Despite claims made by several of her Love Has Won devotees asserting that Amy Carlson transcended into the enigmatic "5th dimension," the Saguache County coroner's office conclusively determined that her cause of death was a result of alcoholism, anorexia, and habitual colloidal silver consumption.
After receiving a tip-off, the police visited Love Has Won's Colorado base where they discovered Carlson's mummified body in an advanced state of decay. Her eyeballs had been extracted, she was wrapped in a sleeping bag, and adorned with Christmas lights.
As evident in her later live streams and video uploads, Carlson's skin exhibited a greyish-blue hue prior to her demise, believed to be caused by the ingestion of colloidal silver. This substance is a liquid containing minuscule silver particles.

Despite online promotion as a dietary supplement, there is presently no official evidence supporting these claims. According to Vanity Fair, scientific research has found no actual benefit to consuming silver orally, yet Carlson claims it can cure virtually any ailment.
In HBO'S new documentary series, Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, a follower asserts that the pharmaceutical industry banned colloidal silver because it doesn't generate profits from healed individuals.
According to Vanity Fair, as the cult leader descended into alcoholism (considering alcohol and drugs as her 'medicine'), her devoted followers administered increasing amounts of silver shots. Concurrently, she experienced weight loss, indicating Carlson's struggle with anorexia, a condition marked by a desire for control often linked to anxiety disorders.
One of her followers shared a diary entry in the series, stating that "Robin [Williams] claims that Mom's maximum weight is 103.1," as the group believed this would enable them to reach the fifth dimension. However, the autopsy report uncovered that Carlson's body weighed only 75 pounds when it was found. Although some of the Love Has Won followers were initially arrested when Carlson's body was discovered, the charges of corpse abuse were eventually dismissed.
