Elden Ring continues to be widely played and discussed long after its release. With its compelling story, intricate lore, immersive gameplay, formidable challenges, and intricate depth, FormSoftware has created a true masterpiece, establishing itself as the pinnacle of Souls-like games. Set in a decaying world caught in a battle of supremacy between ancient deities and new powers, this action RPG takes players on a journey across treacherous lands in their quest to enhance their abilities and confront the all-powerful.
The vast open-world of Elden Ring is a chaotic realm where dangers lurk at every corner, and a single misstep can lead to devastating consequences, abruptly halting a player's progress. Each kingdom, burrow, and village is filled with mystical wonders and formidable adversaries, requiring players to possess sharp instincts in order to distinguish friend from foe. While some areas in Elden Ring are relatively easy, making the bosses appear trivial in comparison, others pose much greater challenges, testing players' determination and skill.
7 Sellia Crystal Tunnel
The Sellia Crystal Tunnel is a challenging and early accessible location for players at the start of the game. If players manage to surpass the Tree Sentinel and venture to the outskirts of the Limgrave starting area, they will stumble upon the Dragon Burnt Ruins.
Hidden beneath the debris and guarded by a group of monsters, an underground crypt houses a chest that offers an advantage to players in the early stages of the game. However, opening this chest will only result in being teleported to a challenging area filled with insectoid enemies that continuously bombard players with projectiles.
6 Nokron, The Eternal City
Upon arrival in Nokron, players will be awe-struck by the expansive underground domain and the exquisite, flawless ambiance of the nocturnal biome. Nevertheless, they will soon become aware of the perilous peril lurking within, prompting them to rapidly navigate the subaquatic metropolis.
5 Liurnia Of The Lakes
Located to the north of Limgrave, Liurnia is an exceedingly perilous region in Elden Ring, harboring a diverse array of threats. At its core rests Lucaria Academy, where visceral mages have mastered their craft and stand resolutely against any intruders with immense skill and determination.
Even on the periphery of the academy grounds, formidable adversaries such as Fingercreepers, members of the Night Calvary, and Giant Crabs lurk. The deceptively serene ambiance of this area can lull unsuspecting players into a false sense of security, only to be caught off guard when a Glintstone Dragon suddenly swoops down from the heavens.
4 Atlus Plateau
The Atlus Platea presents a formidable test in Elden Ring, with only a select few players able to conquer it. It serves as both the initial and final stage in the journey towards the Capital City. The treacherous Atlus Plateau holds numerous perils and hidden truths, offering players the opportunity to gain great power or meet a swift demise.
Along the path leading to the Capital Outskirts, a variety of menacing creatures can be found, including squads of Godricks soldiers and prowling wild dogs on the hunt for prey. Many daring players who have traversed this route dub it as the true starting point of the game.
3 Leyndell, Royal Capital
Once players arrive at the Royal Capital, they will face an even more difficult journey as they explore the depths of The Lands Between and confront formidable adversaries that inhabit this realm. The kingdom, which was once magnificent, now appears as a mere remnant of its former glory, with its stone towers devoid of light and an eerie aura emanating from its abandoned streets.
Safety is a rare commodity in this treacherous place, as nearly everything seems determined to eliminate the player. Moreover, this area boasts some of the most formidable bosses in the game, including the likes of Mohg, The Omen, and the Ulcerated Tree Spirit.
2 Mountaintops Of The Giants
As players venture into the latter half of Elden Ring, the frigid and rugged terrain of the Mountaintops presents a challenging uphill struggle to demonstrate their worthiness to confront the game's ultimate trials. Navigating the uneven and snow-covered peaks is a formidable undertaking, made even more threatening by the presence of lurking Knights of Zamor. Even the most well-equipped players, armed with the finest weapons and armor, will still face a formidable battle against the intimidating Fire Giant.
1 Caelid
Caelid, a valley once lush with vibrant greenery, now lies as a desolate wasteland, scarred by the cataclysmic clash between Starforged Radahn and the Blade of Miquella, Malenia.
Within this forsaken terrain reside grotesque and perilous foes, presenting a formidable challenge to any player who ventures towards the tainted fortress. Every aspect of this region is intended to bring demise to the player, including the very ground beneath their feet.
