Coyote vs. Acme has faced many challenges, but the previously shelved movie has now unveiled its first-look image. Initially announced in 2018, the film has encountered numerous obstacles, with the biggest setback being its abrupt cancellation by parent studio Warner Bros.
The inclusion of both live-action and animation caused a stir among fans when they learned about the short window for the movie's release. This ultimately led to the decision to bring the unreleased movie back to the release schedule.
With the new release date set for 2024, a key cast member has shared a first-look image of Coyote vs. Acme in action.

Eric Bauza, a Canadian voice actor, first shared the image with the caption "See ya in 2024!! #CoyoteVsACME" before he takes on the voice role of Wile E. Coyote. Bauza is well-known for voicing various characters in the world of Looney Tunes, such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy, and Tweety.
In the first-look image, Wile E. Coyote is seen entering the courtroom with his lawyer, played by Will Forte. Warner Bros. delayed the film in November 2023 to secure a $30 million tax write-down, a fate shared with other unreleased movies like Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt.
The following month, there was a strong public backlash which prompted the studio to change its position, giving the filmmakers the opportunity to offer Coyote vs. Acme to other distributors.
One fan commented on X/Twitter after the image was released, saying "It's disappointing that WB didn't release this in theaters. Forte will do a great job!"
"I'm amazed that Will E. Coyote isn't handling his own representation with 'The ACME Guide to Representing Yourself,' released by ACME. *Make sure to read the legal disclaimer in the introduction," added another fan.
"John Cena and Will Forte? Oh, this has potential," remarked a third person, to which a fourth added, "The concept is so appealing to the inner child. I hope it strikes the perfect balance of sly humor for adults and kid-friendly slapstick."
Coyote vs. Acme is yet to be given an official 2024 release date.
