The High School Musical cast is still all in this together — at least when it comes to Vanessa Hudgens‘ wedding day.

Hudgens, 34, recently got married to Cole Tucker in Mexico. Her former costars Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel attended the destination wedding on December 2 at the Azulik City of Arts. Coleman congratulated the newlyweds on Instagram, sharing a video of her and Hudgens celebrating on the beach, with Grabeel also seen in the social media footage.

Coleman shared a photo at the Elle Women in Hollywood gala with former High School Musical costar Ashley Tisdale before attending Hudgens' wedding. Tisdale, 38, did not appear to be present at the wedding, despite remaining close with Hudgens over the years.

Hudgens was surrounded by her bridal party, which included sister Stella Hudgens and friends Sarah Hyland, Alexandra Shipp, Hailey Lavelle, Morgan Marcell, and Laura New. Tucker, 27, was also joined by his loved ones, including fellow MLB stars Scott Kingery, Mitch Keller, and Cody Bellinger.

The couple’s wedding was just one of several gatherings of the High School Musical cast throughout the years. The Disney movie series, which was active from 2006 to 2008, centered on Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa), two teenagers from different social circles who connect through their shared passion for music. Their romance serves as the focal point of the film franchise as their friends come together to participate in the school musical.

Tisdale kept Sharpay’s story alive in the 2011 spinoff film Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, even as other High School Musical actors moved on. The movie featured Austin Butler, Vanessa’s former boyfriend, as Sharpay’s love interest. Even after Butler's split from Vanessa in 2020, he and Tisdale remained friends and spent time together.

Disney+ released the first season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in 2019, which was set at a fictionalized version of the real Utah high school where the HSM movies were filmed. The show, which ran for four seasons, launched the careers of Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, and Julia Lester.

Coleman and Grabeel were among the original cast members who made cameo appearances on the show. However, Efron, Vanessa, and Tisdale chose not to participate in the onscreen reunion. HSMTMTS creator Tim Federle confirmed that he had approached Efron, Vanessa, and Tisdale for potential cameos, but they didn't work out.

Federle told Trib Total Media in August that Ashley called him personally and was pleasant, but due to her busy schedule with brand launches, it wasn't the right time. He also mentioned the feeling that negotiating with Zac and Vanessa may not work out as he hoped. In an exclusive chat with We, Federle expressed his hope for director Kenny Ortega to also make an appearance.

Getting the originals back was a fantastic moment, as it propelled their careers in such explosive ways. It's a similar situation with some of the cast members from my show, who are also launching themselves into the world," Federle shared exclusively with Us in August. "I loved seeing how humble, grateful, and just cool they are now as young adults - Corbin, Monique, and Lucas. I really wanted to bring Kenny Ortega back."

"I reached out to Kenny, but he was super busy on a project. He couldn't have been more gracious. When I asked if he wanted to come back and play Kenny, he said it was the coolest idea but unfortunately couldn't make it as he was editing a documentary. Collaborating with Kenny is definitely on my bucket list. However, I'm really pleased with how we wrapped up the whole show."
