Studio Zero-G has announced the premiere window for their anime adaptation of the supernatural occult-themed series Mysterious Disappearances. The announcement comes alongside the release of the first trailer and new key visuals. Tomomi Mochizuki, known for directing episodes for Tsugumomo and the original Urusei Yatsura anime, has been selected as the director for Mysterious Disappearances. In addition, the series has revealed its additional cast and special trailer for Season 2. Mochizuki will also be responsible for the series composition. Character design will be handled by Takuya Tani, prop design by Hiyori Denforward Akishino, art direction by Toshiyuki Sakae, and color design by Miyoko Ichinose.
Nujima's ongoing manga, "Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi" (Mysterious Disappearances), has been published in Shogakukan's online magazine, Yawaraka Spirits, since October 2019. It has been collected into six volumes so far. The manga has also been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment for release in North America, with the first volume scheduled to be released in May 2024.
Eri Yukimura, known for her role as Anri in "Blue Lock," has been announced as a new addition to the cast, voicing the character Oto Adashino. Yui Horie, popular for her role as Tsubasa Hanekawa in "Monogatari," will voice Manami Uname. Horie has also been confirmed for the upcoming anime, "Highspeed Etoile," and the isekai series, "My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered," which will have an early premiere during HIDIVE's Anime NYC panel on November 17, 2023. They will be joining Fairouz Ai, known for voicing Jolene in "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean," and Daiki Yamashita, famous for his role as Izuku Midoriya in "My Hero Academia."
Mysterious Disappearances, a series listed by Seven Seas Entertainment, encompasses the genres of comedy, drama, mystery, and supernatural.
