A skilled player of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom demonstrated their creative abilities by creating a massive ramp using a duplicated common item found in shrines. Once the impressive ramp was constructed, the player attached a cart to their shield and proceeded to skateboard down the ramp, showcasing this incredible feat in the first-ever public video of its kind for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the protagonist, Link, could briefly engage in "shield surfing" by jumping and sliding his equipped shield under his feet. This technique allowed Link to swiftly descend mountains or slopes. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players can craft a makeshift skateboard by combining their equipped shield with a cart, minecart, or homing cart. This makeshift skateboard enables players to traverse slopes and rails throughout the game. Taking the concept of a skateboard literally, one player of Tears of the Kingdom constructed a massive ramp on a mountainside.
In a recent video shared on Reddit, a player of the game Tears of the Kingdom is seen effortlessly skating down a massive ramp while wearing the Ravio mask as a makeshift helmet. This awe-inspiring ramp truly tests the limits of the Fuse ability in Tears of the Kingdom, as it merges together more than 20 stone slabs. During his descent, the character, Link, navigates every small bump and even gets momentarily stuck at one point. As he nears the end of the ramp, Link's cart shield shatters, causing him to tumble down the final stretch.
Constructing a ramp of this magnitude is a formidable undertaking, and it is impressive that the older hardware of the Nintendo Switch is able to handle the strain on its RAM. These stone slabs can be found in various shrines scattered throughout the game's world, and combining them all necessitates the Autobuild ability, as well as a substantial amount of patience and skill. According to the original poster, the entire cost of the ramp was only 72 pieces of Zonite, with each individual slab priced at three pieces.
Now that this video has been released, it is highly likely that other players will try to replicate the same feat. One helpful suggestion frequently mentioned in the comments is for the player to stack the slabs in an overlapping manner, with the upper plates placed on top of the lower ones, similar to how shingles are arranged on a rooftop. To avoid crashing at the bottom of the ramp as shown in this video, players can try attaching a cart to the Hylian Shield, which happens to be the most durable shield in Tears of the Kingdom. This will ensure that the skateboard has enough strength to reach the bottom of the ramp successfully.
The popular game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is available for the Nintendo Switch.
