The highly anticipated RPG of 2021, Tales of Arise, is set to release a new DLC in November. This expansion, Beyond the Dawn, promises an additional 20 hours of captivating storytelling with the six main characters. Adding to the excitement, a mysterious silver-haired girl named Nazamil will make her debut as a new character.
While Tales of Arise has offered costume DLCs in the past, Beyond the Dawn stands out as the first full-length story expansion. Set one year after the main events of the game, the expansion takes Alphen and his companions on a new journey with Nazamil. However, it appears that her presence may once again bring chaos to the world of Dahna.
Tales of Arise's Beyond the Dawn DLC Has A Lot to Offer
In Tales of Arise, the main storyline revolves around the long-standing conflict between Dahna and Rena, which has lasted for 300 years. Players take control of six key characters, including Alphen, a Dahnan, and Shionne, a Rena who bears the curse of thorns. While the base game allows players to explore Dahna in their quest to locate the Five Lords of Rena, Bandai Namco Studios has announced that completing this portion is not necessary to start Beyond the Dawn. However, it is still recommended to experience the full story of Tales of Arise to avoid spoilers in the DLC.
Beyond the Dawn will shift its focus to Nazamil, the daughter of an unnamed Renan Lord and a Dahnan citizen. Though her past and true identity remain a mystery, the trailer hints that people are wary of her, likely due to her impending destiny to be burdened by "the curse of the mask." Alphen and his companions will need to assist Nazamil in avoiding this fate, even if it means betraying the trust of the Dahnans who admire them. With a generous 20 hours of new content to delve into, players can engage in fresh quests, side quests, and dungeons, complete with formidable new bosses.
Nazamil will not be a playable character in Beyond the Dawn. However, she will make appearances in cutscenes, skits, and camping scenes. Players will still have control over the original six Tales of Arise characters, but Bandai Namco has stated that they will not be able to use their own units. Instead, Beyond the Dawn will offer a pre-leveled party that is adjusted to match the level of the expansion game. This will be beneficial for players who have not fully upgraded their characters' stats or completed the base game.
In addition, Beyond the Dawn will introduce new costume packs for the six main characters. If players pre-purchase the DLC on Steam, they will receive the Elegant Costume Pack, along with four exclusive cooking recipes. The Beyond the Dawn Deluxe Edition includes the Classic Characters Costumes pack, which includes outfits from previous Tales games, as well as additional items and gald that can assist with gameplay. On the other hand, the Ultimate Edition includes the Classic Characters Costumes and nearly all of the costume DLCs that Tales of Arise has previously released. Regardless of which edition players choose, they will undoubtedly be treated to unique cosmetic options and helpful items.
The Tales franchise is renowned for its captivating and often poignant narratives. Tales of Arise is no exception, and the upcoming Beyond the Dawn DLC is expected to maintain this theme. While some may argue that the game doesn't require additional content post its conclusion, as Bandai Namco has confirmed no direct sequel for Tales of Arise, there remains ample potential to further explore the journeys of Alphen, Shionne, and their comrades after their heroic endeavors in saving both Dahna and Rena from catastrophe. Portraying their lives as the saviors of Dahna and the guardians of Nazamil would be an ideal way to demonstrate their unwavering determination.
Experience Tales of Arise on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S now. The highly anticipated Beyond the Dawn DLC will be available on November 9.
