Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will soon have the opportunity to face off against the mighty Mewtwo in a new Tera raid battle, which has a seven-star difficulty rating. This exciting announcement was made during the Pokemon Presents broadcast on August 8, where it was also revealed when players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would be able to take on this legendary Pokemon from the Kanto region.

Mewtwo, famously known as the Genetic Pokemon, is a pure Psychic-type creature that first appeared in Pokemon Red and Blue. As a Legendary Pokemon, Mewtwo possesses incredible special attack and speed stats, making it a formidable opponent in battle. Its moveset includes powerful techniques like Psystrike, Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere, and Nasty Plot, which can be devastating if used effectively. Challenging Mewtwo the Unrivaled will definitely test the skills of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players, especially after their encounter with the formidable Rillaboom the Unrivaled. However, players have ample time to prepare themselves for this epic showdown.

When is the Mewtwo Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

The battle against the unbeatable Mewtwo in the Tera raid begins on Thursday, August 31 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and ends on Sunday, September 17 at 7:59 p.m. Eastern. Leak information has revealed that Mewtwo will retain its Psychic type as the Tera type and will possess the powerful Mightiest Mark. Additionally, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can expect more Tera raid battles in two waves. The first wave is set to occur from August 8 to August 17, followed by the second wave from August 17 to August 31. Only after completing these raid battles will trainers be able to challenge Mewtwo the Unrivaled in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

From August 31 to September 17, Mewtwo the Unrivaled, with its Psychic Tera type, will have increased power for its special attacks. Similar to previous Tera raid bosses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Mewtwo is expected to use its Hidden Ability, Unnerve, which nullifies the effects of Berries. However, Mewtwo will still have its usual weaknesses, particularly against strong Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokemon. Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can receive a special Mew by redeeming the Mystery Gift code GETY0URMEW. This Mew will have a random Tera type and a perk that provides a specific boost in battle against Mewtwo the Unrivaled.

Mew and a variety of Dark-type Pokemon offer ample choices for Scarlet and Violet trainers to overcome the formidable Mewtwo. Although the Pokemon Presents livestream has concluded, players can eagerly anticipate The Teal Mask DLC releasing on September 13.
