The highly anticipated Egghead Incident on Egghead Island is finally happening in the latest installment of the One Piece manga. After months of anticipation, fans are thrilled to witness the intense showdown between the Navy and the Yonko crew led by the Straw Hat Captain. Although the story has mostly focused on events taking place in different parts of the One Piece world in recent months, the attention has now shifted back to Egghead Island.
Previously, the crew found themselves embroiled in battles against formidable Seraphims who were strategically stationed across the island to thwart the Straw Hats and eliminate Vegapunk. However, in Chapter 1089 of One Piece, it was revealed that the Seraphims have been dealt with. While the exact details of their defeat are not explained, fans can piece together the events that transpired on their own.
The Introduction Of The Seraphims
The Seraphim made their debut in One Piece right after the Wano Arc. As the Straw Hat Pirates battled in an isolated country, Oda brought viewers around the globe to catch a glimpse of other events. One such event occurred in Amazon Lily, where Boa Hancock and her formidable Amazonians clashed with the Navy and the Blackbeard Pirates. Amidst the chaos, the Navy unleashed the Seraphims, powerful scientific weapons created by Dr. Vegapunk. It soon became evident that these Seraphims were clones of the former Warlords of the Sea, their Lineage Factor manipulated by Vegapunk. In addition, Vegapunk had granted them the Lunarian Lineage Factor, effectively turning them into Lunarians. On Egghead Island, more details about the Seraphims were revealed, showcasing Vegapunk's intention to create the strongest humans in history. Furthermore, he infused them with Green Blood, a synthetic substance carrying the Lineage Factor of various Paramecia-class Devil Fruits. With this potent Lineage Factor coursing through their veins, the Seraphims present an immensely challenging opponent for most fighters. Fans witnessed their astounding abilities in both Amazon Lily and Egghead Island, solidifying their reputation as some of the world's mightiest warriors.
The Straw Hat Vs Seraphim Clashes
Initially, the Seraphim were initially used to test the Straw Hat Pirates but eventually became a real threat to the crew. York, who was revealed to be deceitful, took control of the Seraphim and commanded them to eliminate everyone on the island, except for herself and Stella. As a result, the introduced Seraphim clashed against the Straw Hat Pirates during their missions. On Egghead Island, four Seraphim were unveiled to the fans: S-Bear, the Seraphim of Bartholomew Kuma; S-Snake, the Seraphim of Boa Hancock; S-Hawk, the Seraphim of Dracule Mihawk; and S-Shark, the Seraphim of Jinbe.
These Seraphims were all witnessed in action on Egghead Island, engaging in battles with various members of the Straw Hat Crew. S-Bear and S-Hawk faced Luffy and Zoro respectively, showcasing their formidable abilities. This encounter allowed fans to witness the incredible power of the Seraphim. Additionally, it was evident that these monstrous fighters posed a significant challenge to combat. Luffy and Zoro required assistance from Lucci and Kaku in order to combat these formidable opponents.
Luffy and Lucci joined forces to face off against S-Bear, while Zoro and Kaku teamed up to take on S-Hawk. These intense battles were witnessed in great detail a few months back, but the Seraphims seemed unperturbed for the most part. Thanks to their extraordinary resilience derived from their Lunarian ancestry, they were able to effectively repel the efforts of the Straw Hats.
Luffy and Lucci relentlessly launched countless attacks at S-Bear, yet their blows failed to leave a single mark on his seemingly invincible body. Likewise, Zoro and Kaku struggled against S-Hawk, despite Zoro's prior encounter with a member of the Lunarian tribe and his knowledge of their weaknesses. Sadly, even armed with this information, Zoro found himself largely powerless against the might of S-Hawk.
Sanji took on the responsibility of protecting S-Shark, the Seraphim of Jinbe. Initially, S-Shark targeted Nami and Brook, but Sanji swiftly came to their aid and saved the day. Witnessing Nami's peril triggered Sanji's fury, causing his eyebrows to flip and activating his Germa mode. Utilizing his enhanced exoskeleton, increased muscle mass, and accelerated healing, Sanji engaged in a fierce battle against S-Shark.
To the astonishment of fans, S-Shark struggled greatly against Sanji. In fact, Sanji purposefully allowed himself to be struck by S-Shark to demonstrate his superior durability compared to the Seraphim. Despite enduring powerful blows infused with Fish Man Karate, Sanji remained steadfast, surprising even S-Shark. Furthermore, Sanji unleashed devastating attacks that sent the Seraphim hurtling through the air. However, the outcome of this confrontation, like many others, was not revealed in the manga, leaving fans uncertain about its conclusion.
How The Straw Hats Stopped The Seraphim
The formidable Seraphims posed a great challenge for the Straw Hat Pirates, requiring every member to unleash their full powers in order to stand a chance in combat. Luffy would need to utilize his stronger transformations and harness the strength of his Conqueror's Haki. Similarly, Zoro would have to tap into the Color of the Supreme King, as he did in his fight against King, and give it his all. Sanji's Ifrit Jambe would be crucial in defeating S-Shark, exemplifying the fact that all of the Straw Hat Pirates are formidable adversaries. It is important to note that the Seraphims, though children, will only become stronger and better versions of themselves with time.
Clearly, the task of defeating the Seraphims was not something that could be accomplished quickly. This is evident from the fact that Usopp and Franky have been unpetrified. Fans are well aware that the powers of the Mero Mero no Mi cannot be reversed without the user's will. This implies that someone took control of S-Snake and convinced her to deactivate her powers. If one Seraphim was under control, it is reasonable to assume that the others were as well. Essentially, this means that the Seraphims were stopped without engaging in a physical fight. Fans know that they were being influenced by York, and the person closest to York was Nico Robin.
Robin may have ultimately defeated York and held her captive, forcing her to command the Seraphims to cease their actions. Alternatively, Robin may have incapacitated York entirely, resulting in Stella assuming control once York passed out. In either case, all of the Seraphims were eventually halted without the need for direct confrontation. If you're interested in reading One Piece, it is accessible on MangaPlus.
