Rather than denying the leak, Activision has confirmed the game and shared additional information. Recently, the Call of Duty social media accounts have been teasing fans with new reveals, including the return of the villain Vladimir Makarov, and have announced a worldwide reveal of Modern Warfare 3 on August 17. The game is set to release on November 10, and will continue the story with Captain Price and Task Force 141. To assist players in transitioning between games, Activision has introduced a new Carry Forward feature and has specified which content can be transferred.

For the first time ever, Activision is introducing a groundbreaking feature known as Carry Forward for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This innovative mechanic allows players to seamlessly transfer their valuable content from a previous Modern Warfare game to the upcoming release. According to the official blog, players can carry forward a wide range of items such as unlocked weapons, attachments, camos, Blueprints, Operators, Operator Skins, cosmetic bundles, emblems, and other rewarding elements. What's even more exciting is that this feature extends to content from the current version of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 as well.

If content is not present in Modern Warfare 3, the corresponding unlocked cosmetic item will not carry over. The blog confirms that not all vehicles and Wartracks from MW2 will be available. Additionally, exclusive players of Modern Warfare 3 will not have access to base operator characters from MW2, which typically required completion of specific challenges before being playable. Similarly, MW3-only players will have access to MW2 weapons but must first complete associated unlock challenges.
