The actress, known for her role in "Mean Girls," is the oldest child of Dina Lohan (formerly Sullivan) and Michael Lohan, who finalized their divorce in 2007. Alongside Lindsay, Dina and Michael also have sons Michael "Mike" and Dakota, as well as daughter Aliana "Ali."

"Previously, I always had to defend and protect Lindsay, and people would say, 'She's enabling her,'" Dina shared exclusively with We in April 2020. "But I want everyone to know that behind closed doors, I would discipline her. I believed her journey and her growth had to be expressed through her own words and from her heart and soul, which she has done since then."

Dina mentioned that she fulfills her role as a mother by providing comfort, discipline, and sharing her thoughts with her children. As they have grown older, they still come to her for support because they have a strong bond. Dina communicates with her children frequently through FaceTime and other means.

Lindsay receives full support from her younger siblings, which fills her with overwhelming joy and gratitude. In November 2022, Dakota expressed his appreciation for the beautiful and kind people in his life, sharing pictures with his siblings at the red carpet premiere of Lindsay's Netflix romantic comedy, "Falling for Christmas." He emphasized the importance of always showing kindness and care for others.
