By completing quests, engaging in gift-giving, and participating in daily activities, players can form friendships with these characters. As players deepen their bond with each character, new quests become available, allowing them to delve deeper into the character's backstory as well as the Valley as a whole.

One prominent character in Disney Dreamlight Valley is Scrooge McDuck. He plays a vital role in many of the game's story quests and, like other residents of the Valley, offers a unique set of quests that revolve around the player's relationship with the shrewd shopkeeper. To successfully complete Scrooge McDuck's final Friendship quest, titled "Treasure Hunt Part 2," and obtain the sought-after Lenses of Shadow, players should take note of the following details.

: Starting the quest "Treasure Hunt Part 2" with Scrooge McDuck requires the player to reach Friendship Level 10 through daily conversations, gift-giving, and completing his quests. To unlock this quest, the player must have already completed the prerequisite quest, "Treasure Hunt," at Friendship Level 8. Additionally, the player needs to spend Dreamlight earned from completing duties to unlock the Forest of Valor, Forgotten Lands, Frosted Heights, and Glade of Trust biomes.

Speak With Merlin

Players initiate this quest by engaging in conversation with Scrooge McDuck, who remains resolute in his belief that there is undiscovered treasure concealed within Dreamlight Valley. Armed with the clues obtained during their previous expedition, Scrooge has compiled a map; however, deciphering its enigmatic inscriptions eludes him. Consequently, Scrooge advises players to seek the guidance of Merlin to unravel the map's secrets.

After encountering Merlin and engaging in a discussion, he takes the map from the player and casts a spell that brings forth enlightenment. This enchantment decrypts the concealed message on the map, clearly proclaiming that unveiling the hidden secrets is possible only for those who possess the Lenses of Shadow.

Use the Map and Memory Shard

He returns the map to the player and instructs them to concentrate their magical energy on it. To do so, the player must access their inventory and "Open" the map by right-clicking on it, transforming it into a Memory shard. Next, the player should "Use" the Memory shard by right-clicking on the item in their inventory.

As a result, a new memory is revealed in their Collection, presenting a map of Dreamlight Valley with red X marks indicating the buried treasures. However, following the warning provided by the map, the player will be unable to unearth these treasures without the aid of the Lenses of Shadow.

Visit Scrooge to Obtain the Lenses of Shadow

Afterward, the player should return to Scrooge, who will reveal that the Lenses of Shadow are kept in his vault and happily hands them over. These special lenses will automatically be added to the "Glasses" category in the player's Wardrobe. Before continuing with the next phase of the quest, the player must equip the Lenses of Shadow.

It's worth noting that the Lenses of Shadow will be permanently unlocked in the player's Wardrobe collection. Apart from their fashionable appearance, these lenses are essential for completing a quest that rewards the player with the Orange Potato. This enchanted vegetable is part of a series of riddles that ultimately lead to unlocking the Rainbow Fox companion.

Locate and Retrieve the Hidden Items

With the Lenses of Shadow equipped, players must then search for two fragments of keys and a chest in specific hidden locations. Players can review the locations of the red Xs indicating the required destinations by revisiting the unlocked memory from their Collections tab. Once at the designated locations highlighted on the map, players should carefully observe the ground for any sparkling dig spots. By using the Royal Shovel on these spots, the quest items will be unearthed.

The first key fragment is buried in the Forest of Valor.

The second key fragment is buried in the Glade of Trust.

The treasure chest is buried in Frosted Heights.

After successfully retrieving these items, players must return with them to Scrooge McDuck.

Repair the Broken Treasure Key

Scrooge assures the player that the broken key can be repaired by using 2 Gold Ingots, which can be crafted at any crafting station using the following materials:

After obtaining the Gold Ingots, players should proceed to a crafting station to create the Treasure Key by combining the two fragments. Once the key is restored, they should return to Scrooge, who will use the key to open the chest. As a reward, Scrooge will give the player 2,000 Star Coins and a furniture item called Scrooge McDuck's Spare Safe, which can store up to 16 items.
