For those unfamiliar, in October 2022, the developers of Disney Dreamlight Valley released a promotional image on the game's official Discord. Within the image, players discovered a series of alphanumeric characters which turned out to be a redeemable code for obtaining a Mysterious Golden Potato in the game. Initially, there was no known method of utilizing this item, but curious players have finally deciphered the puzzle.

Dreamlight Valley - How to Get the Golden Potato

To obtain the Golden Potato in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players should make their way to Scrooge McDuck's Store located in the Plaza. Upon entering the shop, approach the safe positioned near the entrance and retrieve the Golden Potato from the floor. This Quest Item is part of a lengthy Questline that involves the search for various vibrant potatoes and the acquisition of enigmatic potions. Unbeknownst to many, these potions can be utilized by Dreamers to unlock a brand new companion known as the Rainbow Fox.

Originally, the Golden Potato was introduced in the Scar Update and could only be acquired by using a redemption code in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, with the addition of the Fairy Godmother in The Remembering Update, players can now find the Golden Potato available for purchase at Scrooge's Store. It is important to note that players who have already redeemed the Golden Potato through the redemption code will not be able to find it at Scrooge McDuck's shop, as they have already obtained it.

To initiate the clandestine mission, players must make their way to Merlin's residence while carrying the Golden Potato in their inventory. It is crucial to possess the Golden Potato in order to commence the quest successfully.

Inside Merlin's house, players will come across a captivating sight - a book showcasing an illustration of a resplendent Golden Potato resting atop a meticulously crafted diamond-shaped stone. As they eagerly turn the page, their eyes are greeted by an enchanting spectacle - four equally mesmerizing diamond-shaped stones, each adorned with a distinct number from one to four. These remarkable artifacts, known as Transfiguration Stones, hold the key to the players' quest, beckoning them to embark on a captivating journey to discover and collect all four of these elusive treasures.

Transfiguration Stone 1 - Dazzle Beach

To obtain the first stone, players should make their way to Dazzle Beach carrying the Golden Potato. Once there, they must venture into the magical cave that is filled with barriers that need to be dispelled. This is necessary in order to acquire Dreamlight Valley's Orb of Power. Upon descending a few stairs, players will come across the first Transfiguration Stone placed on a table. Placing the Golden Potato on the stone will cause it to undergo a transformation, turning into a Golden Carrot.

Transfiguration Stone 2 - Forest of Valor

Now, players must venture into the Forest of Valor carrying their Golden Carrot and locate Elsa's ice cavern. Upon entering, they will quickly spot the second Transfiguration Stone resting on a sizable ice table. By carefully positioning the Golden Carrot on this stone, a remarkable transformation unfolds as it turns into a majestic Golden Crab.

Transfiguration Stone 3 - Dream Castle

The third Transfiguration Stone can be found within the main castle. To reach it, players must go to the Plaza with their Golden Crab and enter Dream Castle. Once inside, they should proceed up the grand staircases, passing through all of Dreamlight Valley's realms and unused doors, until they reach the top floor. From there, they can look over the balcony towards the exit. On the left-hand side of the railing, they will spot the third Transfiguration Stone, delicately resting. By using the Golden Crab at this location, players can transform the stone into a Golden Night Thorn.

Transfiguration Stone 4 - Merlin's House

The fourth and final Transfiguration Stone necessitates players to return to their point of origin. Simply warp to the closest fast travel location to Merlin's House, carrying the Golden Night Thorn, and enter. On the table beside the book, a Transfiguration Stone can now be found, allowing players to place their Golden Night Thorn on it and receive a Gleaming Gold Potion.

Dreamlight Valley - How to Use the Gleaming Gold Potion

Currently, players have not discovered a method to utilize the Gleaming Gold Potion. However, this enigma remains unsolved, and there are additional potions that can be acquired through completing covert quests involving peculiarly hued potatoes.
