In Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can utilize their Royal Tools for different activities. The Royal Fishing Pole, in particular, is used for fishing in the diverse bodies of water within Dreamlight Valley's biomes. Currently, there are eight distinct biomes in Disney Dreamlight Valley, each offering a variety of small ponds, rivers, and, in the case of Dazzle Beach, an expansive coastline perfect for ocean fishing.
With the Royal Fishing Pole, players have the opportunity to acquire various fish and materials. However, it's important to note that not all of these can be found in every location. To assist players, here is a guide detailing fishing locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
What Items Are Obtained By Fishing?
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can engage in fishing activities to catch a diverse range of 25 Fish and Seafood all year round. Alongside these, there are also two valuable resources found in the Valley's waters – Seaweed and Red Algae – which have various uses in crafting recipes. Additionally, there are five seasonal variant Fish that were exclusively available from December 18, 2022, to December 31, 2022.
Dreamlight Valley's Fish can only be caught in specific biomes, and they can only be found when fishing in a specific color ripple or in open water in that zone. To catch a specific fish, players need to know what to look for.
In addition to fishing with the Royal Fishing Pole, players can also retrieve fish from Moana's Boat, which gradually gets stocked throughout the day with a randomized selection of fish. Upgrading her boat increases the number of fish she can catch and hold until the player collects them. This is a great opportunity for players to get their hands on rare fish, such as Fugu or the elusive Walleye.
While Fish are mainly utilized in cooking recipes, a handful of the catches serve other purposes as well. For instance, Foxes in Frosted Heights have a predilection for White Sturgeon, considering it their favorite food. Simultaneously, Seaweed finds utility in both culinary ventures and various crafting recipes.
All Fish & Seafood in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Here is a complete list of all Fish and Seafood available year-round in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You can catch each Fish in the open water or in specific colored ripples. Aim for the ripples and successfully land your fishing bobber within them. The list also provides information on where to catch each Fish, the color of the ripple, the energy restored when eaten raw, and the selling price at Goofy's Stall. It is generally recommended to cook the fish before selling it to earn more Star Coins.
It is important to note that three of Dreamlight Valley's Fish have additional criteria which must be met in order for them to be catchable:
Fugu can only be caught during rainfall.
Here and There Fish can only be caught between 6am-10am and 6pm-10pm. They become available once Nala's Friendship Quest "Here and There and Back Again" is completed.
Kingfish: Can be caught only between 6pm-5am.

---|---|---|---|
Red Algae | Any Biome | None | 150 |

Currently, players have the opportunity to catch two different materials while engaged in fishing: Red Algae and Seaweed. Seaweed can be obtained by fishing in open water, whereas Red Algae is obtained as a random drop when a fish is caught, similar to the way bonus items are obtained when fishing with a companion who has the Fishing role. When a fish is caught, the Red Algae springs out of the water and lands on the ground where players can retrieve it.
