Talk to Cid

Prior to engaging in a conversation with Cid, it would be wise for players of Final Fantasy 16 to assess their current abilities and determine if there are any areas they wish to allocate their ability points towards. Following this, proceed up the staircase. Notably, both the shop and forge have recently acquired fresh stock, prompting players to seize this opportunity to enhance their existing gear or even indulge in the creation of new items. Once adequately prepared, make your way towards the center of the Great Hall where Cid eagerly awaits.

While Clive grapples with the recently revealed information, he agrees to accompany Cid and meet up with Gav, who is rumored to possess insights about the Dominant of Fire. As a result, a new location will materialize on the world map, limiting players' ability to fast travel elsewhere for the time being. In addition, no fresh side quests will be available as part of the main storyline at this juncture, prompting players to proceed with the narrative by journeying to Kingsfall. Following a short cinematic, "The Hunter and the Hunted" commences.

Rendezvous with Gav

While Cid ventures off to investigate the presence of imperials, Clive forges ahead in search of Gav. Proceed along the path and snatch the Wyrrite before gracefully leaping down to the ground below. A swarm of formidable arachnids will assail players in the latest installment of Final Fantasy 16. Dispatch the spiders with skill and agility, then swiftly traverse the river by leaping across to advance to the next section of the path. Just a short distance ahead, players will confront a formidable adversary.

Shortly after, adventurers stumble upon a formidable Minotaur, brandishing a massive club and employing it to swipe at them. Moreover, the Minotaur sporadically charges directly at the adventurers, making it imperative to evade these assaults as much as possible and effectively stagger the creature. Once the Minotaur meets its demise, the journey continues beneath the towering tree, where a Potion awaits on a nearby ledge. Progressing along this path, the adventurers must confront a horde of spiders, accompanied this time by menacing bee-like adversaries.

As players continue along this path, they will eventually come across a menacing horde of spiders accompanied by another fierce Minotaur. Take them down swiftly and proceed onwards. Scale the ledge and claim the valuable High Potion. Cross the bridge to initiate an engaging cutscene. Once the cutscene concludes, prepare for a battle against a group of imperials. Prioritize eliminating the spellcaster in the rear before dealing with the remaining adversaries.

The boss encountered here is a close replica of the one faced in the early stages of the game. Being a dragoon, be cautious of his Jump attack. The only thing you need to be aware of is when the Knight of the Dying Sun executes Mirage Dive towards the end. This move releases a cascade of jump attacks that cannot be evaded. However, after a period of time, Cid uses his powers to bring the boss crashing back down to the ground. With the boss left vulnerable, players can swiftly deal the finishing blow. This initiates a sequence of captivating cutscenes, eventually leading players to the world map. To proceed with the story, head back to the Hideaway.

Speak to Jill

After regaining consciousness following the conclusion of the fourth main scenario quest, Jill is finally awake. To continue, players should proceed to the infirmary by following the red waypoint. A lengthy cutscene ensues as Clive and Jill catch up with each other, after which players must speak with Charon in order to prepare for their journey to Phoenix Gate. Additionally, two side quests become available: namely, "A Place For Everyone" and "Moving Heaven and Earth".

This presents a good opportunity for players to enhance their equipment or replace any items that may need upgrading. Once prepared, players should speak with Charon and then Gav. Following another cutscene, the world map will open up, granting players access to Three Reeds. Travel there to initiate the next main scenario quest.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now on PlayStation 5.
