Goblins Make a Triumphant Return
To celebrate the ten-year milestone of Skyrim, known as the Anniversary Edition, the game pays homage to its dedicated fanbase and their extraordinary contributions. Bethesda collaborated with numerous talented Skyrim mod creators, resulting in the inclusion of 26 exciting new features in this special edition.
On July 7, 2023, Erik Petrovich updated the Skyrim Anniversary Edition to include a wide range of mods that enhance the player's experience in the familiar world of Skyrim. These mods not only include content from the Skyrim Special Edition Creation Club but also introduce completely original additions. Some mods pay homage to previous Elder Scrolls games, while others completely transform the gameplay and world of Skyrim. With various addons like Rare Curios, new armors, and weapons, the Anniversary Edition offers players a fresh and diverse experience, breathing new life into the 11-year-old title since its release on November 11, 2011.
Rare Curios
The Rare Curios mod for Skyrim Anniversary Edition is highly regarded for its extensive variety. Khajiit merchants scattered across Skyrim now provide a diverse collection of Rare Curios sourced from various regions in Tamriel.
Among these newly introduced ingredients, some may be familiar from previous Elder Scrolls games, and each possesses distinct attributes that Alchemists can harness to concoct potent potions. Moreover, the mod introduces Poisoned Apples reminiscent of Oblivion, which inflict a long-lasting health-damaging effect. Placing these apples discreetly in NPC pockets offers a clandestine method of eliminating them over time.
Forgotten Seasons
The Anniversary Edition of Forgotten Seasons introduces an exciting addition to the game, offering players a brand new location to discover. Hidden behind Runoff Cave in the Reach lies the Dwemer ruins, a perilous threat to the entire land of Tamriel. To address this danger, players must venture into each of the ruin's four wings.
Forgotten Seasons presents four distinct dungeons, each representing a different season. Within these dungeons, players will encounter unique puzzles that must be solved in order to progress further. Ultimately, players will confront a Dwemer construct of unprecedented danger, surpassing even the ferocity of Centurions. As a reward for their bravery, players have the opportunity to forge special Dwarven Crowns within this dungeon, each imbued with effects reminiscent of the Dragon Priests and themed after the seasons.
New Armor Packs and Unique Weapons
New Skyrim Armor Sets in Anniversary Edition
Anniversary Edition features a wide selection of 15 distinct armor sets. These sets enhance the existing armors found in the base game and its DLCs. Ranging from Leather and Iron to Daedric and Dragon Plate armors, these sets introduce fresh twists to traditional designs.
Many of these different armors first make an appearance in the mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Blades, which received high praise from avid Elder Scrolls fans for its visually appealing designs. While these modifications may not radically alter the gameplay, they introduce an enhanced level of personalization to ensure that a character remains engaging.
Dozens Of New And Unique Weapons
Alongside a wide range of captivating armor options, numerous new weapons have emerged, with many possessing distinctive names and characteristics. The Tools of Kagrenac collection is now complemented by the inclusion of Wraithguard and Sunder in the Anniversary Edition. Additionally, the Staff of Sheogorath (not to be confused with the Wabbajack) and the revered Aedric relic known as Stendarr's Hammer have also been introduced.

surpass the standard equipment found in the original Skyrim game, providing players with visually stunning weaponry that packs a powerful punch. Numerous quests and prerequisites are intertwined with these weapons, but after all, the most rewarding achievements require effort, don't they?Ghosts of the Tribunal Follows From TES III: Morrowind
Regarding the Tools of Kagrenac, the Anniversary Edition provides players with the opportunity to uncover the fate of the Dark Elf Tribunal of Living Gods after the Red Year. Despite Sotha Sil's demise at the hands of Almalexia in Morrowind and Almalexia's own death at the hands of the Nerevarine, the whereabouts of Vivec remain a mystery, with uncertainty surrounding whether he perished or simply vanished.
However, the Ghosts of the Tribunal addon offers more than just an intricate questline. It also introduces highly sought-after armor, weapons, characters, and locations inspired by Morrowind, alongside a commitment to unravel the events that unfolded following the destruction of Vvardenfell.
The Cause Investigates What Happened After TES IV: Oblivion
Ghosts of the Tribunal pays homage to Morrowind in the Anniversary Edition, while The Cause delves into the aftermath of the Oblivion Crisis. Despite Mehrunes Dagon's defeat, the presence of the Mythic Dawn cult persists.
Through The Cause, players can embark on a questline that uncovers the activities of Mehrunes Dagon's devoted followers following their master's downfall. Alongside this intriguing storyline, The Cause introduces a variety of Oblivion-inspired armor, weapons, and items, complemented by visually enhanced Ayleid Ruins for players to explore.
Saints and Seducers
Included in Skyrim Anniversary Edition, Saints and Seducers is one of the creations that pays homage to Oblivion, the fourth game in the Elder Scrolls series. Within this expansion, the Saints and Seducers act as the protectors of Mania and Dementia, representing the Daedric Prince Sheogorath's Shivering Isles.
Throughout the questline in Saints and Seducers, players are sent on a journey across Skyrim to uncover the identity of the mastermind behind the Bandit attacks on the Khajiit. They soon learn that each bandit group has emulated the Golden Saints and Dark Seducers, leading them to ultimately confront a devoted cultist of an overlooked Daedric Prince.
The Return of the Gray Cowl
The Thieves' Guild quests in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion revolve around the Gray Fox, who is the main character. The Gray Cowl is not just a face covering, but a Daedric Artifact that was stolen from the Daedric Prince Nocturnal, making it highly regarded among legendary thieves.
On the nose of the Gray Cowl, there is Daedric script that says "Shadow hide you," which refers to its previous owner. In Skyrim, wearing the Gray Cowl grants the wearer the ability to detect life, and this is the only item in the entire game that provides this advantage without any active effort.
Arcane Accessories & The Necromantic Grimoire
The Arcane Accessories creation in the Creation Club is highly favored due to its extensive range of new spells and diverse selection of Mage Robes. Likewise, the Necromantic Grimoire offers comparable enhancements with its 13 new Necromancy spells and an armor set dedicated to resurrecting the deceased.
These additions introduce an additional dimension to Skyrim's magical realm. While the included spells aren't excessively overpowered, they do offer more affordable options compared to similar spells in the original game.
Survival Mode & Camping
The Creation Club features two highly sought-after mods that complement each other seamlessly. Survival mode revolutionizes gameplay by introducing elements such as hunger, fatigue, revamped resource regeneration, elimination of fast travel, and environmental impacts like cold and warmth on the player's health.
Complementing Survival Mode, Camping allows players to immerse themselves in the wilderness without feeling overwhelmed by the need to manage multiple aspects. By crafting Camping Supplies at a forge, players can delve into the camping system, receiving a fundamental introduction upon setting up their initial campsite.
Pets of Skyrim
The Pets of Skyrim mod introduces charming and useful creatures that players can accompany on their quests. This creation features five pets, while additional companions can be found in various mods bundled with Skyrim Anniversary Edition.
These pets encompass a loot-seeking Fox, a helpful goat capable of carrying items, a skeever skilled at procuring food (especially advantageous in Survival Mode), a rabbit adept at locating Alchemy ingredients, and a spider equipped to ensnare enemies.
Fearsome Fists & Unarmed Improvements
Unarmed combat in Skyrim used to be seen as a joke, often taken on as a last resort when all other options failed. The Gloves of the Pugilist were among the limited choices for Unarmed weapons.
However, with the addition of the Fearsome Fists addon in the Anniversary Edition, this perception has changed drastically. It elevates Unarmed combat by introducing 15 new Gauntlets, some equipped with blades, spikes, and other enhancements to ensure your Unarmed attacks deliver a powerful impact.
Goblins Are Finally Back
No one specifically longed for the reappearance of the Goblins from Oblivion and other Elder Scrolls games, but their return in the Anniversary Edition is being well-received without any complaints. It is slightly disconcerting to witness these small green creatures in the Skyrim engine, particularly when contrasted with the Draugr, spiders, and other adversaries that were introduced in Skyrim.
The Goblins were initially introduced through the Creation Club and have now made their way into the Anniversary Edition. They can be encountered in the Blue In The Face questline, which centers around the Goblin's devotion to a blue-faced Orc.
