Players of Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis can soon play as a younger version of Sephiroth, exploring his story before Nibelheim.
Young Sephiroth's narrative will gradually unfold for players who are venturing into Ever Crisis for the first time. To unravel his story, they must first engage with other tales.
Despite being a gacha game, Ever Crisis ensures that beginners are catered to, offering convenient access to various characters, thereby positioning it as an excellent option for new players.
Starting September 29, players of Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis will have the opportunity to embody a younger version of the infamous villain, Sephiroth, following the game's update to version 1.1.0. This announcement follows closely after the game's recent release on mobile platforms and Square Enix's confirmation of a future PC port for Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis.
Sephiroth holds an esteemed status as one of the most iconic antagonists in the history of video games, and his legacy is inseparably intertwined with the wider Final Fantasy 7 anthology. Initially revered as a formidable SOLDIER, Sephiroth's descent into madness, triggered by the revelation of his true origins, solidified his status as a formidable force in combat. After his apparent demise during the Nibelheim incident, it became apparent that rumors of his demise had been greatly exaggerated, as he and Jenova unleashed chaos throughout the narrative of Final Fantasy 7. However, players will soon have the opportunity to witness a fresh perspective on Sephiroth's character, as the story ventures back in time to a period preceding the burning of Nibelheim.
After Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis version 1.1.0 maintenance, players will have the opportunity to play as a young Sephiroth in the game. Square Enix recently released new character artwork on social media, showcasing the teenage Sephiroth. In the game's storyline, he will team up with Glenn and his SOLDIER units to embark on a mission through enemy territory in Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier. Although his signature silver hair is now shorter and he wields a smaller katana compared to the Masamune, the young Sephiroth still possesses formidable magical abilities and excels in combat.
While the full story of the One-Winged Angel will be gradually revealed, newcomers to Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis must progress through other stories in order to access Sephiroth's tale in The First Soldier. Currently, players have access to story chapters from the original Final Fantasy 7, The First Soldier, and Crisis Core, but these stories are not yet complete and will be further developed over time. Eventually, players will also be able to delve into narratives from other games in the anthology, including Before Crisis, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus. The timeframe for when Square Enix will introduce these additional stories to Ever Crisis remains unknown.
Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis stands out among gacha games for its accessible character unlocking system, making it an ideal choice for newcomers. The upcoming arrival of Sephiroth further adds to the anticipation, leaving us curious about the game's future downloads. Currently, the game can be enjoyed on Android and iOS, while a PC version is being developed.
