Pocket Pair has introduced a Pal named Relaxaurus in their ongoing video series, highlighting the similarities between Palworld and the popular Pokemon franchise. Palworld, often described as Pokemon with guns, offers players an expansive open world filled with imaginative creatures resembling Pokemon. However, unlike Pokemon, Palworld incorporates survival game elements, adding a unique twist to the traditional monster collecting formula. The Pals in Palworld possess special abilities that players can utilize to enhance their chances of survival, with the Relaxaurus being the latest Pal showcased.
After capturing the Relaxaurus, the player character wastes no time in utilizing its abilities. Rockets are cleverly mounted on the creature's shoulders and are deployed to completely annihilate a flock of chicken-like Pals known as Chickegg. Additionally, the Relaxaurus' water-based powers are put to good use as it waters the crops at the player's base camp. In the backdrop, Foxparks and Univolt can be seen fulfilling various tasks, such as Foxparks igniting the fire for the cooking pot and Univolt providing power to a battery.
The video concludes with a sneak peek of another Pal creature called Jolthog, which will be introduced in the upcoming Paldeck update. Jolthog appears to be an electric-type Pal with spiky quills and a unique color scheme, resembling Pokemon's Shaymin. Players will have the opportunity to learn more about Jolthog in the next Paldeck update, but they will have to wait until early next year to encounter the creature firsthand.
Palworld is set to enter early access in January 2024, allowing PC gamers to finally experience the highly anticipated game. Additionally, an Xbox version of Palworld is currently being developed, although no release date plans have been disclosed at this time.
Palworld is in development for PC and Xbox consoles.
