Both Mallette and Justin have openly discussed the challenges they faced during his early years. Mallette went a step further and penned a book named Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber's Mom, detailing her experience as a teenage mother.
“I grew up with not a lot of money,” Justin later told The New York Times. “We never owned a house.”
2000s
Justin developed his musical talent and various sports skills, enabling him to earn sufficient funds from street busking in Stratford, Ontario. He used this money to accompany Mallette, his supportive mother, on a trip to Disney World.
"In my younger days, I used to perform on the streets, strumming my guitar and belting out songs, and people would kindly contribute money in my case," Justin shared with Interview magazine in 2015.
