Since its release in 2016, Dead By Daylight has remained unrivaled as the leader in the asymmetrical multiplayer horror genre. Despite attempts by competitors, none have been able to withstand the test of time. Alongside its addictive gameplay, Dead By Daylight has maintained its position at the forefront by collaborating with various popular horror franchises, encompassing all aspects of the horror pop-culture world, from video games to iconic movies. The latest crossover in the game, inspired by the Alien franchise, proves to be the most exceptional yet.
Now available, Dead By Daylight's newest DLC pays homage to the first two and most acclaimed movies in the Alien series. For just $12, players can gain access to a new killer, survivor, and an exclusive outfit, all inspired by the Alien franchise. But that's not all; the Alien DLC brings more surprises and excitement for players to discover.
What's Coming to Dead By Daylight With the Alien DLC
Available as standalone purchases or as part of the Alien Chapter bundle, Dead By Daylight's latest DLC features a fresh killer and survivor, each equipped with their own distinct perks and abilities. The newest addition, known as the Xenomorph, presents a unique challenge due to its complexity. Ranked as a Medium difficulty killer by Behaviour, the Xenomorph possesses a seemingly straightforward but highly formidable ability.
Named "Hidden Pursuit," the Xenomorph's special ability allows it to enter a Runner state, in which it moves swiftly on all fours. During this state, the Xenomorph gains increased speed and significantly reduces its Terror Radius, catching survivors off-guard. Additionally, in this Runner state, the Xenomorph can employ a special tail attack that can reach survivors through windows and dropped pallets. Alongside these abilities, the Xenomorph possesses three exclusive perks – "Ultimate Weapon," "Rapid Brutality," and "Alien Instinct" – all geared towards enhancing its speed and awareness.
The Xenomorph's presence spawns seven Control Stations across the map, allowing it to access hidden tunnels underneath. When the Xenomorph emerges from a tunnel, the Killer Instinct briefly reveals any survivor within close proximity to the Station. However, survivors have a way to defend themselves against the Xenomorph's powerful attacks. Control Stations are equipped with Flame Turrets that can be moved and placed by players. These turrets emit a classic Alien motion-tracking noise, which increases in frequency as the Xenomorph gets closer. Once in range, the turret fires at the Xenomorph, forcing it out of its Runner state. However, the turret sustains damage and requires repair afterward.
The Dead By Daylight Alien DLC features Sigourney Weaver's iconic character, Ellen Ripley, with her own unique set of perks that pay homage to the source material. With the perk "Lucky Star," Ripley stops bleeding after hiding in a locker and gains a quick glance at her teammates' auras. "Chemical Trap" allows Ripley to set booby traps on pallets, while "Light-Footed" ensures that her running footsteps are completely silent. While players need to purchase both Ripley and the Xenomorph, the brand new Nostromo Wreckage map is available to all players. This map depicts the iconic space freighter from the first movie, which has crashed on a mysterious alien planet.
Dead by Daylight is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
