Highlights
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 1 delivered on fans' expectations with new character designs for the majority of their favorite characters.
Shikadai, Inojin, and Kawaki underwent subtle changes in their character designs, while fans were impressed by Chocho's outfit and growth.
The decision to give Boruto a new outfit resembling Sasuke's is viewed as an interesting character design choice, whereas many feel that Sarada's heels are unnecessary. Himawari's design is widely praised as one of the best in the story thus far.
Boruto made a triumphant comeback after its timeskip, treating fans to a remarkable chapter and showcasing revamped character designs for most beloved characters. With the story embarking on a fresh era in a brand new manga, fans had high expectations, and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 1 did not disappoint.
Though not every main character's design was revealed in the first chapter, the majority of them made a notable impression, sparking both positive and negative reactions from fans.
9 Shikadai
Shikadai Nara, known to fans as one of the most skilled ninjas in Konoha, is the son of Shikamaru. Although he didn't play a significant role in the first part of Boruto, fans caught a glimpse of him in Two Blue Vortex.
Unlike the other characters, Shikadai's appearance remains largely unchanged, which is somewhat unusual considering his growth. While his physical features remain similar, he did undergo a wardrobe transformation.
8 Inojin
Inojin, the son of Ino and Sai, is an exceptionally skilled ninja from the next generation. However, in terms of his relevance to the story, he is largely insignificant compared to Shikadai. Although Inojin has shown some growth, the changes are not particularly significant.
Fans can easily notice that not much thought was put into his character design, with the most noticeable aspect being his unpopular new hairstyle. With that being said, fans can only hope that he will have a crucial role to play in the future of the story.
7 Chocho
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Chocho stands out as a remarkable design. Viewers witnessed her impressive growth when she engaged in a sparring session with Himawari. Notably, her outfit underwent significant alterations, now befitting a mature ninja.
Devoted fans admired both Chocho's new attire and her development as a skilled ninja. Moving forward, it is hoped that Part Two of Boruto will not overlook her character, as happened in the initial installment.
6 Kawaki
Kawaki, a prominent figure in the Boruto series, has undergone a significant transformation in part two. With a fresh new look, Kawaki now dons a strikingly long jacket and his hair has grown noticeably longer.
Notably, his pants boast a baggy style that contributes to his overall edgier appearance. Surprisingly, this dynamic design aligns perfectly with Kawaki's personality, endearing it to fans as one of the standout post-time skip designs in Boruto.
5 Boruto Uzumaki
Boruto Uzumaki, the series' protagonist, generated significant anticipation among fans for his updated design. After his initial outfit featured in the manga's prologue, Boruto underwent a redesign.
His current attire includes an array of accessories adorning his neck, along with an open shirt and a cape reminiscent of Sasuke's. In fact, Boruto's entire ensemble seems to be a direct replica of Sasuke Uchiha's, which could be viewed as lacking originality. Nevertheless, this choice effectively conveys his development during the time skip.
4 Sarada Uchiha
In Boruto Part 2, Sarada Uchiha's character design underwent noticeable transformations. Her once lengthy hair has been replaced with a shorter style, complemented by rimless glasses. Additionally, she adorns a tube top beneath a loose jacket. Surprisingly, Sarada pairs very short shorts with excessively long heels. While her overall design is intriguing, the inclusion of impractical heels detracts considerably from her otherwise impressive character aesthetic.
3 Sumire
Although not a central character in the series, Sumire received significant attention in the debut chapter of the new manga. She also played a modest role in the initial section of Boruto, indicating her continued significance in the upcoming second installment.
Regarding her character design, Sumire is depicted wearing a dress layered over a shirt, which harmonizes perfectly with her ensemble. Additionally, she stylishly dons a necktie. Notably, Sumire has experienced notable growth, as evident from her longer hair compared to its previous length.
2 Mitsuki
Mitsuki, a prominent character in Boruto series, had fans eagerly anticipating a significant transformation in his design for the second part of the story. And indeed, Ikemoto didn't disappoint as Mitsuki underwent a complete revamp.
Notably, he has noticeably grown in stature and now dons a sleek black top, paired with matching trousers secured at the waist with a belt. His facial features bear a striking resemblance to his brother, Log, with the only notable distinction being his significantly longer hair.
1 Himawari
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 1, fans were finally introduced to Himawari Uzumaki. Although her presence in the first manga was limited, the sequel's first chapter showcased her development as a character. Himawari was shown training alongside Chocho and exhibited impressive strength.
Notably, Himawari has grown significantly, evident from her height and long hair. Despite her slender frame, she remains agile like a ninja. Her attire consists of a top adorned with a sunflower pattern and loose pants, which enables her to efficiently engage in combat. Her character design flawlessly aligns with her personality and is arguably the most compelling in the story thus far.
