This film is based on the real-life story of the infamous Von Erich family, known for their contributions to wrestling history from Fritz Von Erich to his sons, as well as their reputation for being cursed.

The Iron Claw recounts the tale through the eyes of Kevin (played by Zac Efron), as he watches his father's relentless pursuit of family glory take a toll on him and his brothers. Tragically, a string of devastating deaths seems to validate the supposed curse on their family name.

The lingering question persists - is Kevin Von Erich still alive, and did he break free from the curse that plagued his family?

Did Kevin Von Erich escape the family curse?

Yes, Kevin Von Erich is the only surviving brother and currently lives in Hawaii with his wife Pam, their children, and their grandchildren.

The Iron Claw delves into Kevin Von Erich's deep love for his brothers, portraying his adoration for them both inside and outside the wrestling ring. He was acutely aware of their declining mental health and made efforts to lessen his father's controlling influence on them. Known for wrestling barefoot and possessing an imposing physique, Kevin often sacrificed potential title opportunities for the benefit of his brothers. The film effectively chronicles Kevin's personal life, his marriage to Pam, and the tragic deaths of each of his siblings.

In reality, Kevin is happily married to Pam and they have four children and eleven grandchildren. They now live in Hawaii and manage a family investment business. Although he officially retired from wrestling in 1993, Kevin made his last in-ring appearance in 1995.
