The sequel's initial release date was August 5, 2022, but due to global restrictions, it was postponed to November 4, 2022, and then moved again to July 7, 2023. Part 1 took its place, and although Part 2 was initially scheduled for a 2024 release, it has now been delayed once more to 2025.

Originally, the plan was to film Part 2 immediately after Part 1, similar to the initial plans for John Wick: Chapter 4 and a fifth installment. However, this was not possible during the pandemic. Principal photography began in March 2022, and like the classic Mission: Impossible style, it involved shooting in multiple locations around the world. However, the production was recently halted due to the writers' strike.

According to Empire, the strike has halted director Christopher McQuarrie's progress. Production is expected to resume once an agreement is reached, potentially causing a delay. We will keep you informed of any updates.

During the premiere of Part 1, McQuarrie informed Collider that they have finished shooting all but one of the international locations. The major action sequences have been captured, except for the largest set piece, which is extraordinary and unlike anything they have done before. It is undeniably a great privilege," he expressed, coinciding with the overwhelming success of Top Gun: Maverick at the box office. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 cast

The Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 cast is expected to include the following actors and characters. However, we will not see Rebecca Ferguson reprising her role as Ilsa Faust and Cary Elwes as Denlinger, as both characters met their demise in Part 1.

Ilsa made her debut in Rogue Nation and appeared to be a perfect match for Ethan. Unfortunately, she met her demise at the hands of Gabriel during a fierce duel involving swords and knives in the streets of Venice. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 plot

Well, we don’t have any official plot details for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2… but we know what it’ll be about.

In Part 1, Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, consisting of Benji, Luther, and Grace, are anticipated to engage in a race against Gabriel in order to locate the Entity. Their main objective is the Sevastapol submarine, which contains crucial information.

However, McQuarrie has not yet completed the process of developing the story. When asked about the ending of Part 2, he told Collider that he is currently unaware and therefore unable to provide any information.

“I’m not being evasive. I could tell you that I know what the end of Part 2 is, but I can’t guarantee that that will be the ending when we get there.”

He added that he and Tom always have a clear direction and destination, despite the perception that they are making things up as they go along. He emphasized the importance of being prepared and not taking unnecessary risks. The missions are meticulously planned to avoid any serious physical harm. In Part 2, McQuarrie revealed in an interview with the Light the Fuse podcast that the title of the first movie was almost something similar to "Ghost Protocol." It referred to a government policy or measure of last resort, which had severe consequences. In Part 2, we can expect the title to be even more relevant and significant.

With the film's delay, there have been rumors that the new Mission Impossible installment will have a different title for Part 2 instead of Dead Reckoning.
