Unparalleled Feat: Zelda Fan Constructs Astoundingly Lengthy Airplane

A creative player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ingeniously constructs an outrageously elongated airplane using the game's building mechanics, resulting in a hilariously impressive aircraft

Highlights

Players of Tears of the Kingdom have been pushing the game's building mechanics to their maximum potential, resulting in the creation of an astonishingly elongated aircraft that necessitates an external power source due to its immense size.

The effective implementation of guard rails obtained from the game's Construct Factory is fundamental to this revolutionary design, as the body of the airplane consists of 16 guard rails, while two additional guard rails serve as wings.

The guard rail, being the lightest object in the game, possesses unique physical properties that enable the massive vehicle to take off, despite its inherent instability. Additionally, the incorporation of an external battery ensures the continuous operation of the singular propeller engine for extended periods.

A daring player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has pushed the boundaries of the game's building mechanics by constructing an incredibly long aircraft of extraordinary size that cannot be powered by conventional methods. Following this accomplishment, they took to social media to share their achievement, which occurred shortly after another Tears of the Kingdom player successfully built a starfighter inspired by Mandalorian.

The practicality of aircraft has made them a popular choice among Tears of the Kingdom fans, who have been building various types of flying machinery since the game's debut in mid-May. While some players have focused on simplicity and energy-efficiency in their builds, others have experimented with extravagant designs like the King Gleeok mechs.

One impressive engineering feat comes from Reddit user PokeyTradrrr, who has created an incredibly long plane. This contraption incorporates 16 guard rails from Tears of the Kingdom's Construct Factory, with 14 serving as the body and the remaining two acting as wings. The unique physical properties of the lightweight guard rail allow this comically large vehicle to take flight, despite its initial instability.

The Zonai Battery, positioned inconspicuously below the airplane's sole propeller engine at the tail, plays a crucial role in the newly shared design. Tears of the Kingdom sets a strict limitation on the distance between a Zonai device and its energy source, typically Link's battery strap. As this aircraft exceeds that threshold, the singular engine necessitates an external power supply, which the designer incorporated in the form of an additional battery.

Despite not relying on Link's energy cell reserves, the airplane's lone propeller is not excessively demanding, allowing for extended flight duration. Alternatively, PokeyTradrrr developed a modified version of this invention with two Zonai Fans instead of a propeller, eliminating the need for an external battery. However, this design sacrifices maneuverability due to the absence of wings and horizontal momentum.

The fandom has come up with more than just comically long planes as applications for the guard rail. Shortly after its discovery, another player found a way to enhance the classic hoverbike design in Tears of the Kingdom using this unique component. Since the guard rail was found around the same time as the game's latest update, there is a possibility that Nintendo may remove its unique properties in future patches. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be played on Nintendo Switch.
