Despite the odds, Mickey always manages to save his clients. However, in season 2, he encounters Andrea Freeman, the prosecutor in Lisa's case, who poses a significant threat to his winning streak.

At first, Mickey hesitated to represent Lisa, who was accused of murdering Mitchell Bondurant, a wealthy real estate mogul. This revelation severely hampers Mickey's defense. Not only does it seem to prove Lisa's guilt to the jury, but even Mickey himself is uncertain about whether Lisa actually killed Bondurant. By the end of The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, Andrea proves to be the toughest prosecutor Mickey has faced thus far. Despite his unconventional methods, Mickey is generally a successful lawyer. However, Andrea's close friendship with Maggie and their collaboration in the DA's office gives her direct access to one of Mickey's closest confidantes. She is able to manipulate Mickey's thoughts, as demonstrated when she distracted him with the promise of a plea bargain.

The plea bargain tactic exemplifies Andrea's control over Mickey. Although Maggie and Mickey are no longer together in The Lincoln Lawyer, Andrea does not have direct access to the main character. Nevertheless, she possesses valuable insights into his thinking process and exploits them. When Andrea presented Mickey with a plea bargain for Lisa, she imposed a tight deadline of 24 hours for him to accept or reject the offer. This caused Mickey and his team to frantically search through the discovery documents in hopes of finding evidence in Lisa's favor.
