Unlocking the Secrets of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Version's Indigo Disk Exclusives

Get ready for the ultimate Pokemon showdown as the Indigo Disk DLC for Scarlet and Violet versions is set to release soon With confirmed returning Pokemon, speculation is rife about which ones will be exclusive to each version Don't miss out on the excitement and stay tuned for the latest updates!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are gearing up for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, which will be released in two parts – The Teal Mask this fall and The Indigo Disk in the winter. The DLC promises to introduce at least one new Pokemon called Terapagos, as well as several returning Pokemon from previous generations that are not yet available in Paldea. One of the series' main features has always been version-exclusive Pokemon, which encourages players to interact and trade to complete their Pokedexes. While online connectivity has made trading significantly easier, version-exclusivity in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet extends to Paradox Pokemon like Great Tusk and Iron Treads, indicating that both parts of the DLC will likely have version-exclusive Pokemon.

Pokemon That May Be Version Exclusives in The Indigo Disk

Predicting which Pokemon will appear in which version of the DLC is a tricky task. However, it's worth noting that the trend of including version-exclusive Pokemon in downloadable content began with the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield. The Isle of Armor DLC featured exclusive Pokemon like Pinsir and Heracross, setting a precedent for The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk to follow suit. While The Pokemon Company hasn't officially announced which Pokemon will be exclusive to each version of the DLC, there are two Pokemon lines confirmed to appear in The Indigo Disk that have a history of exclusivity.

One possible pair of version-exclusive Pokemon are Seel and Dewgong. Although these Sea Lion Pokemon weren't exclusive to a particular version in Pokemon Red and Blue, they were only available in the Sinnoh region in Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. As a result, players of Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Shining Pearl had to trade to obtain them. Dewgong, as one of the first Water and Ice dual-type Pokemon, could fit in well with The Indigo Disk's Blueberry Academy, especially since part of the building is submerged underwater.

Cottonee and Whimsicott were introduced as version exclusives in Pokemon Black, making them strong contenders for exclusivity in The Indigo Disk. Their counterparts in Pokemon White were Petilil and Lilligant, with the latter receiving a Hisuian form in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. While Hisuian Lilligant is now available in Pokemon Home, fans will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Whimsicott.

Additionally, the Alcremie and Zebstrika lines are also potential candidates for version exclusivity in The Indigo Disk. Given their shared Fairy typing, Alcremie and Whimsicott could serve as counterparts to each other. On the other hand, Dewgong and Zebstrika have both recently appeared in remakes of previous generations and could also be viable options for exclusivity.

Zebstrika, a native of Unova, has been absent from the Pokemon franchise since its last appearance in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire back in 2014. However, fans can look forward to its return in The Indigo Disk, set to be released later this year. As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it remains to be seen whether Zebstrika's reappearance will live up to expectations. These highly anticipated games are currently available on Nintendo Switch.
