Unlocking the Secrets of Persona 3 Reload: New Surprises Await SEES

Confirmation of a Persona 3 remake has finally arrived after months of speculation. The leaked trailer from Atlus, titled Persona 3 Reload, has quashed any remaining doubts about its existence. However, the trailer only features a minute of gameplay and reveals only Junpei, Yukari, and Aigis as party members. While the limited duration of the trailer may explain the absence of other characters, the inclusion of these three raises questions about possible changes to the SEES team.

Why Atlus Might Be Holding Off on Showing the Other SEES Members

One possible explanation for the absence of many SEES members in the trailer is that Atlus is intentionally holding back their reveal for a more significant moment. It's possible that the developers have made drastic changes to the characters' designs, such as altering their outfits, hairstyles, or even their overall appearance based on unused designs from Persona 3's original development cycle. This could mean that the characters will look different from how we remember them, and some characters like Koromaru may even have a different fur color or breed.

It is doubtful that any major changes will be made to the character designs in the remake, as the currently revealed party members closely resemble their original designs. It is possible that artistic decisions were made to keep certain designs unchanged, while others were updated to fit the style of the remake. Fans may have hoped for a trailer featuring the other party members with the female protagonist as the focus, but Atlus has confirmed that the base game will be the only content included in the remake. Unfortunately, this means that additional content from re-releases and ports, such as The Answer and the female protagonist, will not be present in Persona 3 Reload, making it a missed opportunity for a definitive version of the game. However, it remains the most accessible way to experience the story.

It is plausible that the reason why only a few SEES members were shown in the trailer is due to the fact that it was a short clip featuring quick glimpses of each character. Junpei and Yukari could have been highlighted more as they are the first party members that players encounter in the game. Although Aigis is a well-known character in Persona 3, if the remake only covers the base game, emphasizing her early on may seem meaningless as her social link was only introduced in Persona 3 FES.

The trailer mainly displayed early sections of the game and the characters that players meet at the beginning, providing limited insight into the social simulation aspects and story details. However, the announcement of the Persona 3 remake will undoubtedly be thrilling news for many, even if it only covers the base game.
