Unlocking the Secrets: How to Thrive in Diablo 4 Season 1 Despite the Hardcore Challenge

Diablo 4 Season 1 launch may leave Hardcore players in a tough spot, diminishing their luck in the game

Blizzard has confirmed that Hardcore players in Diablo 4 may need to explore the map and reclaim the Altars of Lilith if their character dies before Season 1 begins on July 20. Fans of the popular action-RPG have expressed concerns about what will carry over when the first season starts.

Initially, it seemed like not much would carry over for Season 1 of Diablo 4, causing community concern. However, Blizzard has taken this feedback into account and made changes so that players won't have to redo everything when the season launches on July 20. By downloading an update on July 18 and logging in with the character that has the most progress, players will receive credit with their Season 1 character.

Regrettably, this could pose a challenge for Diablo 4 Hardcore players. In Hardcore mode, which features permanent death, players who have unlocked all the Altars of Lilith and explored the entire map with their Hardcore character must ensure their survival until the July 18 update. If their Hardcore character perishes before that date, they will have to start Season 1 anew, without any progress.

While it could be argued that Diablo 4 players are aware of the risks involved when they choose to play a Hardcore character, it is reasonable to assume that many would have expected the Renown credit for the map and Altars of Lilith to be tied to their account. For some players, it may be advisable to refrain from playing their Diablo 4 Hardcore character until after the July 18 update is released, in order to receive the credit they rightfully deserve for the tasks they have already completed in the game.

Diablo 4 Season 1 has caused confusion among many newcomers to the franchise who are not familiar with its seasonal content mechanics. Similar to previous games in the series, Diablo 4 requires players to create a new character for each season. This has caused frustration among new players who were not aware of this requirement.

However, there is some good news. Once Diablo 4 Season 1 begins, players will no longer need to worry about transferring their Renown progress. In the future, subsequent seasons of Diablo 4 should be more seamless and hassle-free.

Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
