Ongoing discussions and speculation circle around the direction of KH4, fueled by the enigmatic title of the Lost Master Arc, which opens up various potentialities and unexpected plot developments.
Kingdom Hearts 4 signifies the shift into the second major storyline of the iconic Square Enix and Disney crossover series. Referred to as the Lost Master Arc, this new chapter follows Sora as he embarks on a journey in the enigmatic realm known as Quadratum. While further details about Kingdom Hearts 4 are currently unavailable, fans can expect the inclusion of Strelitzia, a character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ who has passed away. Their joint adventures will revolve around the enigmatic figure named Yozora.
Beyond this, much remains unknown and left up to speculation. Kingdom Hearts is known for its intricate plotlines, leaving fans with several unanswered questions. It is uncertain where the Master of Masters is located, what roles the Foretellers will play, the identities of the Nameless Star and the unknown test subject, and so much more. Even after the release of Kingdom Hearts 4, speculation and theories are likely to persist. The vague name of the Lost Master Arc, in contrast to the more specific Dark Seeker Saga, suggests numerous potential directions that Kingdom Hearts 4 could explore.
Kingdom Hearts Has Plenty of Lost Keyblade Masters
First, the identity of the Lost Master needs to be addressed. It is likely that this title holds various interpretations, with the most apparent one referring to the Master of Masters. After appearing abruptly before a young Xehanort, claiming to be one of the 'Lost Masters', the Master of Masters has been absent since assigning tasks to the Foretellers in Kingdom Hearts Union χ. The secret ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 and the reveal trailer for KH4 hint at the Master of Masters settling in Quadratum and the plot revolving around his unfolding plan to eradicate the 13 willful Darknesses.
Accompanying the Master of Masters are the Foretellers and Luxu, most of whom were featured in the extended ending of KH3. It is possible that some of them will adopt disguises, removing their masks and assuming different names to surprise players. They are believed to replace Organization 13 in a more sympathetic manner, though their objectives and methods remain shrouded in mystery. Luxu also holds a significant and enigmatic role in all of this, while the whereabouts of the lost Keyblade master, Foreteller Ava, also remain unknown.
It's Up To Kingdom Hearts' Heroes To Find Any Missing Masters
Ignoring the complicated intricacies surrounding the Foretellers, another perspective on the Lost Master Arc emerges. Sora, with the acquisition of the Power of Waking, stands on the verge of becoming an official Keyblade Master with only a formal declaration required. His newly acquired whip transformation for his personal Kingdom Key further reinforces this notion. It is plausible to assert that the arc's title refers to him. In KH4, the premise is centered around Sora's predicament in Quadratum, while his friends tirelessly seek ways to rescue him. If this interpretation holds true, Sora may encounter other characters such as Riku, Donald, and Goofy during his journey.
Yozora, too, is among the lost individuals. Something has befallen Yozora and the Nameless Star's original bodies, and Yozora is presented as a parallel of sorts to a Keyblade Master. Given that deceased or missing individuals from the Kingdom Hearts reality can manifest in Quadratum, a plethora of lost souls could potentially be found there. Rather than pursuing keyholes, Sora's newfound objective may involve locating various individuals while combatting the darkness, as he has always done. The Lost Master Arc hints at all of these possibilities and more, prompting fans to prepare themselves for an adventurous quest for truth once Kingdom Hearts 4 sets into motion.
Kingdom Hearts 4 is now in development.
