The highly anticipated Alpha release of the Convergence Mod for Elden Ring has arrived, unveiling a truly transformed Lands Between that is sure to captivate players. While the world may appear somewhat reminiscent of the original Elden Ring, the Convergence Mod introduces numerous alterations that can leave even the most seasoned players feeling disoriented.
To ensure a smooth transition into the Convergence Mod, the developers have provided valuable information regarding the modifications and the locations of essential items. This information can be accessed through the Convergence Mod discord and a publicly available Google Doc. For those eager to plunge into the Convergence Mod without delay, this handy guide will assist in making the most of their initial explorations in this expansive rendition of the Lands Between.
Choose A Class With A Start Location You Like
In the Convergence Mod of Elden Ring, players have the opportunity to explore a total of 27 new classes. Each class offers its own unique armor set, weapons, Spells, and starting location. However, it's important to note that some starting locations are more challenging than others. For instance, the Volcanist and Servant of Rot both begin in Caelid, while the Stormcaller and Vanguard start at the regular opening of the game in Limgrave.
Before making a decision, it is advisable to thoroughly experiment with each class. While every character can eventually discover all starting locations, the initial launch pad can greatly influence the direction players take. With the Convergence Mod introducing numerous changes, each playthrough will offer a different experience due to the added variety. Additionally, the scaling of enemies to players' levels has been altered throughout the Lands Between, providing even more freedom in deciding where to venture first in the Convergence Mod.
Hunt Down Class-Defining Gear & Spells
While Melee classes in the Convergence Mod primarily rely on weapons and armor, the true essence of this mod lies in its extensive collection of over 100 new Spells. Sorceries, Incantations, and various other abilities abound in this mod, allowing Spellcasting-oriented classes to acquire Runes and unlock multiple new Spells at once.
Take the Godskin Celebrant, for instance. This class embarks just outside the Deathtouched Catacombs, a dungeon inhabited by a formidable Black Knife Assassin. Accompanying adversaries have been replaced with Godskin-themed foes, and by defeating the Black Knife Assassin, players earn the reward of four new Black Flame spells to add to their Spellbook.
Gather Enchanted Remnants For Talisman and Physick Crafting
Make sure to consult the introductory Notes located near the beginning of each class in the Convergence Mod. These Notes often emphasize additional Runes and corresponding Spells that can be accessed within a specific Spell category, along with their respective locations.
The Convergence Mod introduces a unique crafting system for obtaining Talismans and Crystal Tears, which cannot be found in the world. Instead, players can now craft their desired Talismans and Crystal Tears using the new system. However, these creations require the use of Enchanted Remnants as a crafting material.

Remnants can be discovered in locations where Talismans are typically found in Elden Ring. For instance, in Summonwater Village, there is usually a Green Turtle Talisman that enhances Stamina regeneration. However, by utilizing the Remnant found in the same chest, players can access a Site of Grace and create any desired Talisman.
It is advisable to search for a few of these Remnants in the early areas of Elden Ring before confronting major bosses. Since players begin with all four Talisman slots unlocked, those who take advantage of the Remnant crafting system will experience smoother progression through the challenges and revamped enemies of the Convergence Mod.
Fight The First Keystone Boss: Godrick, Rennala, or Ancestor Spirit
After determining a Starting Class and exploring the newly revamped areas of Elden Ring, as well as acquiring Spells, Talismans, and Physick effects, it is now time to face a formidable boss. In contrast to the original game, Elden Ring's Convergence Mod grants players the freedom to venture almost anywhere at any given time. For instance, players can opt to directly challenge Morgott in Leyndell.
To access the Forge of Giants within the Convergence Mod, players must obtain five Keystones. These Keystones are obtained by defeating bosses from five different groups. Interestingly, in each group, only one boss needs to be defeated in order for a Keystone to be obtained.
Defeating Godrick, Rennala, and the Ancestor Spirit, who are the first group of bosses found in Stormveil Castle, Raya Lucaria, and the Siofra River respectively, marks the initial progression in Elden Ring's Convergence Mod. Please note that the Convergence Mod is exclusively available on PC.
