In their quest to eradicate the infectious Root, players of Remnant 2 are presented with a variety of character classes, each offering unique advantages, skills, and abilities.
As players advance further in Remnant 2, they will unlock the opportunity to add a second character class called an Archetype to their existing one, allowing them to harness the combined powers of both. For those aspiring to achieve this feat and strengthen their character, the following information outlines the steps to obtain a secondary Archetype.
Minimum Requirements For A Second Archetype

: Expanding Character Abilities in Remnant 2As players progress through the narrative in Remnant 2, they will face an important decision regarding their Archetype - a choice that will shape their journey. However, the game also offers an exciting opportunity to enhance character versatility by adding a secondary class.
To unlock this option, players must collect trait points, which can be obtained by completing quests or discovering Tomes of Knowledge in the diverse worlds of the game. By accumulating a total of 10 trait points during their campaign, players will unlock the ability to incorporate a second archetype into their character's loadout.
After players have collected the necessary trait points, they can go to Wallace to buy a new Archetype. However, besides the trait points, players will also need a specific item to give to the vendor in return for an Engram, which is an improved version of the original item.
In the case of the initial Archetypes, the special item is usually available for purchase from vendors and NPCs in Ward 13, like Mudtooth who sells the Old Whistle for the Handler Archetype. However, there are various secret Archetypes that are still being uncovered, including the Gunslinger, Explorer, Summoner, and Alchemist, which require additional effort to unlock.
Adding Or Changing An Archetype
To change their Archetype, players must pay a visit to Wallace, bringing along the Engram. Moreover, in order to add another Archetype, players will be required to pay a fee of 1,000 Scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals.
If players choose to switch their primary Archetype, it is important to understand that their progress from the original Archetype will not transfer to the new one. For example, replacing a level 12 Handler with a Medic will result in starting over as a level one Medic.
