You can now sign into your Nintendo Account using a new method. The company has introduced passkeys as an additional security measure for logging in.
The recently updated Nintendo customer support website provides information about this new feature. For those who are not aware, passkeys allow you to sign into your Nintendo Account using biometric authentication such as a fingerprint or facial recognition, instead of using a traditional username and password. This makes it more difficult for unauthorized individuals to gain access to your account.
Nintendo states that up to 10 passkeys can be utilized on an account. The following devices are supported by the company:
iPhone with iOS 16 or newer
iPad with iPadOS 16 or newer
Mac computer with macOS 13 or newer
For Android users with Android OS 9 or later, your Nintendo Account serves as the hub for your digital library and various memberships such as Nintendo Switch Online. As an added bonus for subscribers, F-Zero 99 was recently released, offering tracks from the original SNES version. However, this time, you'll find yourself competing in a battle royale format, racing against 98 other individuals.
Earlier this month, Nintendo Switch Online made its debut in the US with the introduction of three games that were previously unavailable. The basic subscription tier of the service costs $20 per year and grants access to NES, SNES, and Game Boy games. Meanwhile, the Expansion Pack membership, priced at $50 annually, goes a step further by providing access to titles from Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis.
