In Early Access, Baldur's Gate 3 allows players to fully immerse themselves in the Dungeons and Dragons story. An exciting feature of this game is the opportunity to embark on a romantic journey with one of the seven companion characters. Although more romance options will likely be added after the game's official release in August 2023, currently four out of the seven options are available in Early Access, with only one being fully developed. The key to pursuing these romantic relationships lies in making cautious and thoughtful decisions throughout the game.

Astarion

Astarion is a high elf vampire rogue in Baldur's Gate 3. Players encounter him in the opening chapter and have the opportunity to develop a romantic relationship with him. To earn his favor, players must allow their main character's blood to be consumed by this companion with silver hair. Astarion is one of the four romanceable companions available during the Early Access phase.

Gale

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Class: Wizard

Gale, a kind-hearted human sage, is a companion in Baldur's Gate 3 who joins the player's party during Act 1. He has a special affinity for animals and gladly assists those who are willing to help creatures like the owlbear cub and Scratch the dog. It is also worth noting that Gale can be romanced during the Early Access phase.

Karlach

Race: Asmodeus Tiefling

Class: Barbarian

Meet Karlach, a formidable Tiefling known for her demon-slaying expertise and an unusual secret - she literally possesses a heart that functions like a ticking bomb. Approaching this character with caution is recommended, especially when considering a romantic entanglement, as she has the potential to detonate. It's worth noting that the game currently lacks a dedicated romance scene for Karlach.

Lae'zel

Gender: Female

Race: Githyanki

Class: Warrior

This Githyanki soldier bears a curse, yet remains determined to find a remedy. Players will encounter this skilled warrior in the prologue, and she is one of the four companions in Baldur's Gate 3 who engages in a romance scene.

Minthara

Gender: Female

Race: Drow

Paladin Class:

Minthara, a Drow Paladin, can either be a formidable boss battle or a potential companion for players in Baldur's Gate 3. With the ability to command a Goblins army, players have the option to win her heart by betraying Zevlor and joining her in the pursuit of the Druids Grove. It is worth noting that Minthara's romance path is the only one that is fully developed, with some rather explicit scenes for players who choose her.

Shadowheart

Class: Cleric

Shadowheart, a romanceable character in the RPG, offers players a romantic storyline during Early Access. She is introduced in the prologue and can be recruited to the player's team at various points throughout the game.

Wyll

Wyll, a legendary hero, has relinquished his soul in a fateful pact with demons. Seeking redemption, he embarks on a quest to reclaim his essence and, perhaps, kindle a romantic connection with the main character in the extensive RPG Baldur's Gate 3.
