The Battle for Azeroth expansion of World of Warcraft sparked controversy, but it introduced exciting new elements to the game. The addition of stunning new locations, the inclusion of allied races, and engaging patch content were all notable highlights. However, the most impressive addition came in the form of Heritage Armor sets. These sets provided players with a sense of accomplishment and helped reestablish distinct identities for the races of Azeroth.
Despite Blizzard often abandoning features with new expansions, the Heritage Armor sets have remained a consistent feature. The studio has been steadily adding more sets over the past few expansions and will likely continue to do so until Dragonflight concludes. Each allied race has their own set, with Blood Elves having multiple sets. Gnomes and Goblins have also joined in the fun, while Humans and Orcs shine in their respective sets. Even the Worgen and Tauren have not been left out. The upcoming Patch 10.1.7 will further expand the collection with Night Elf and Forsaken sets, leaving only a few sets remaining to be introduced.
Draenei
Dracthyr
While the Lightforged Draenei possess their own set of Heritage Armor, the original Draenei race remains without one. Introduced in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, the classic Draenei have played a significant role in the game's storyline ever since. They have successfully thwarted the Burning Legion on multiple occasions, fought against the armies of the Lich King, and even faced the cataclysm itself. Furthermore, they serve as a symbol of hope for the Alliance, with their spaceship serving as a central hub during the Legion expansion. Despite their contributions, Blizzard has yet to acknowledge them in this regard. It is only fair that they receive a dedicated armor set, just like any other race. Hopefully, they will be the next in line to receive this well-deserved honor.
The Dracthyr, the latest addition to the World of Warcraft, surprisingly lack a distinct Heritage Armor set. Throughout the release of Battle for Azeroth, each allied race was introduced with their own unique armor set, except for the Dracthyr in Dragonflight. Despite their minimal impact on Azeroth thus far, it is hoped that their narrative concludes with the unveiling of their exclusive armor set. This, of course, should not be at the detriment of other races, but the Dracthyr unquestionably warrant such recognition at some point.
Troll
The Trolls have been a staple in World of Warcraft since its launch in 2004, yet they remain the only classic race without a Heritage Armor set. While the Zandalari Trolls have received their own unique set, the standard Trolls have been left out of the festivities. These mighty beings have played a significant role within the Horde since its inception and even led the faction during the transition from Mists of Pandaria to Legion. It is puzzling that Blizzard has not bestowed upon them a Heritage Armor set, but one can only hope that the developers are diligently crafting a suit of armor worthy of this formidable race.
Pandaren
As the sole remaining race without their own Heritage Armor, the Pandaren have remained in the shadows despite their long-standing presence in both factions since the advent of the Mists of Pandaria. However, it is high time these charming pandas receive the recognition they deserve. With their continent boasting a distinctive and unparalleled aesthetic in Azeroth, it would be an exhilarating experience for them to don armor that truly reflects their unique culture. Additionally, many players have been yearning for a return to the captivating shores of Pandaria, and what better way to achieve this than through an immersive Heritage Armor questline tailored specifically for the Pandaren?
