Quake 4 is now available for free to Prime Gaming subscribers for a limited time, coinciding with QuakeCon and the recent reveal of Quake 2 Remastered.

Quake 4 takes place in a futuristic setting, where players assume the role of Marine Corporal Matthew Kane to protect Earth from hostile alien intruders.

Aside from the complimentary offer on Prime Gaming, Quake 4 can also be purchased for $4.99 during the QuakeCon sale on Steam. This version includes diverse multiplayer modes and allows players to opt for either the Marine or the Strogg faction.

To celebrate QuakeCon, Prime Gaming subscribers can now get Quake 4 for free for a limited time. This news came right after the official announcement of Quake 2 Remastered, kicking off QuakeCon and introducing exciting new content for players to enjoy.

Originally released in 2005 for PC and Xbox 360, Quake 4 was developed by Raven Software in collaboration with id Software and published by Activision. It was created using the id Tech 4 game engine, which was also used for games like Doom 3 and Wolfenstein (2009). With Bethesda's acquisition of id Software and its properties, they gained the ability to publish all subsequent re-releases of the Quake series, including the 2011 Steam re-launch of Quake 4.

In Quake 4, players once again defend Earth against the alien Stroggs, taking on the role of Marine Corporal Matthew Kane from the Rhino Squad. Leading a skilled elite squad, Kane is tasked with launching a counteroffensive after the events of Quake 2. However, there is only a short window of time for players to claim Quake 4 without any additional cost.

Until September 14th, subscribers to Prime Gaming can acquire a code for Quake 4, which is redeemable on GOG. Once claimed, Amazon Prime users have an additional month to enter the code on either the GOG Galaxy app or website. Alongside the Prime Gaming offer, Quake 4 is also accessible on Steam for $4.99 until August 16th as part of the QuakeCon sale. Similar to Quake 2 Remastered, the current version of Quake 4 enables players to engage in multiplayer modes such as Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch, with the option to play as a Marine or a Strogg.

The previous occurrence of the Quake series being available to Prime Gaming subscribers was in December 2022, when they could claim a code for Quake Remastered from the Epic Games Store. As the QuakeCon event is currently ongoing, the timing of this latest Prime Gaming offer is extremely opportune for gamers who wish to either delve into the Quake series or relive some memorable multiplayer experiences.

Prime Gaming subscribers can enjoy more than just Quake 4 this August. They also have the opportunity to acquire Payday 2, Farming Simulator 19, and Blade Assault. With regular additions of new games, the future holds exciting possibilities for Prime Gaming users. Quake 4 is currently accessible on PC and Xbox 360. Amazon Prime Gaming subscribers can grab a free copy of Quake 4 on GOG until September 14.
