Handler Walter will temporarily depart after completing Chapter One of Armored Core 6 to attend to some unfinished matters. During this period, the player and the enigmatic voice in their mind decide to independently embark on missions, taking matters into their own hands in order to reach the Ice Field where the flowing Coral is found.
Consequently, the player undertakes the task of infiltrating "Grid 086," a designated area controlled by one of Armored Core 6's numerous factions known as The Dosers. These renegades perceive Coral as a narcotic substance. In order to progress, players must combat their way through The Dosers and navigate a series of traps devised by their leader, including an autonomous combat robot called the "Smart Cleaner." The encounter with this formidable adversary proves challenging, as its formidable crushing appendages possess the capability to inflict substantial damage.
Attacks
The Smart Cleaner initiates combat by lunging forward, attempting to crush the player between its arms. To avoid this, it is best to quickly move backwards or upwards, utilizing a quick boost if moving backward. Following its arm attack, the Smart Cleaner tends to maintain its position for a few seconds, providing an opportunity for players to position themselves above it and counterattack.
Occasionally, the Cleaner will modify its lunging attack by striking with both arms from the same side, with one arm positioned above the other. This aims to catch players who try to evade by boosting upwards. Pay attention to the position of its arms during the lunge and ensure to dodge backwards when it attempts this variation.
Another frequently used attack by the Smart Cleaner involves shooting a stream of molten rock from its chimney, a tactic likely employed to prevent players from continuously hovering above it during the entire battle. To avoid this assault, it is recommended to back away slightly and maintain constant movement until the attack ceases. As the Smart Cleaner's health diminishes to half, it will start raising its arms before launching the molten rocks, making it even riskier to linger in the air near the enemy.
Strategy
Maintaining a safe distance from the Smart Cleaner while engaged in battle is vital to avoid getting hit by its close-range attacks. By staying airborne using the Tetrapod, the Smart Cleaner is unable to strike players in mid-air with its melee attacks. Additionally, hovering at a higher altitude allows for an advantageous position to launch powerful assaults through the chimney, inflicting significant damage and causing the Smart Cleaner to stagger easily. Although attacking its front is also an option, it is less effective unless the enemy is already staggered.
To effectively target and damage the chimney or front of the Smart Cleaner, players can utilize Vertical Missile Launchers by locking onto them. Additionally, hovering above the Smart Cleaner and employing explosive weapons like bazookas can also be a viable strategy. It is important to note that when hovering, vertical missile launcher attacks may be intercepted by the ceiling. Therefore, it is advisable to launch these missiles from the ground and rely on other weapons while hovering above the Smart Cleaner.
Build Recommendations
Tetrapod legs prove to be the optimal choice for facing this boss as they are highly susceptible to aerial attacks. To efficiently defeat the boss, explosive weapons such as the 44-141 JVLN ALPHA or the DF-GR-07 GOU-CHEN are recommended to be fired downwards through the Chimney. Meanwhile, for ground-based assaults, the BML-G1 P03VTC-08 Vertical Missile Launchers should be utilized to launch attacks from above the chimney. For combating the Smart Cleaner, the following loadout offers exemplary performance.
Right Hand | 44-141 JVLN ALPHA |
Left Hand | DF-GR-07 GOU-CHEN |
Right Shoulder | BML-G1 P03VTC-08 |
