How To Get The Rarest Diablo 4 UniquesAll Six Rarest Uniques in Diablo 4 (& What They Do)
In Diablo 4, there are only four tiers of items: common, uncommon, rare, and legendary. Unique items are special cosmetics and armor pieces with distinctive names, such as The Butcher's Cleaver, Tempest Roar, 100,000 Steps, and many others. Although these unique items are not as frequently obtained as endgame items, a few of them are incredibly rare.
The iconic two-handed sword, The Grandfather, makes a comeback, along with the immensely powerful Shako (known as the Harlequin Crest), as well as four other extremely rare unique items. Despite their extremely low drop rate, there is a method to slightly increase one's chances of acquiring one of these six rarest items in Diablo 4 – although it is advisable to maintain realistic expectations.
How To Get The Rarest Diablo 4 Uniques
Players who have progressed to World Tier 3 and 4 may find themselves surrounded by legendaries and Uniques. However, the drop rates of these items are not entirely random. By specifically targeting certain enemy types, such as Goatmen, players can increase their chances of obtaining specific drops like Totems. This can be particularly beneficial for Druids seeking Druid-specific Aspects.
Regrettably, this targeting strategy does not work for the six rarest items in Diablo 4.
To obtain these rare unique Diablo 4 items, players must reach at least Level 85 in Nightmare difficulty (World Tier 4), as emphasized by Lead Class Designer Adam Jackson. Lower-level players will not have access to these six rare Uniques. To acquire them, players need to participate in activities such as Helltide Mystery Chests, Nightmare Dungeons, and other endgame challenges that offer Uniques as rewards.
However, obtaining these items is highly challenging due to their incredibly low drop rate, leading many players to question if their chances are higher at winning the lottery. The first discovery of the Harlequin Crest (Shako) occurred on June 11, 2023, approximately a week and a half after the game's early access launch, while The Grandfather was not obtained until June 28, 2023, almost a month after release.
