The Lost Woods in Tears of the Kingdom is a challenging area to reach due to its magical fog, which resets Link's position if he tries to pass through it.
In Breath of the Wild, players relied on a lit torch to navigate the intricate maze of trees in the Lost Woods. However, in Tears of the Kingdom, this strategy proves ineffective.
Despite one player's attempt to outsmart the puzzle by utilizing a rocket-powered cart to pass through the fog, their efforts ultimately failed as the fog engulfed Link as soon as the rockets vanished.
In an innovative move, a player of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom tried to overcome the dense fog in the Lost Woods by utilizing a cart powered by rockets. The fog in this particular area possesses a magical ability to reset the position of Link, the protagonist, should he attempt to traverse through it. As a result, reaching this part of the map has proven to be one of the most challenging tasks in Tears of the Kingdom.
Similar to Death Mountain and Zora's Domain, the Lost Woods holds a significant place in the classic areas of Hyrule. It gained notoriety in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for its eerie atmosphere and unforgettable theme song. Since then, the Lost Woods has been featured in numerous games in the series, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, where players must navigate through a labyrinth of trees guided by the flames of a torch to obtain the coveted Master Sword. However, players of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were in for a surprise, as the expected tactic did not yield the same results.
In Tears of the Kingdom, using a lit torch has no effect. Players are left to figure out how to navigate through the fog without clear guidance. One Reddit User attempted to bypass the puzzle by constructing a rocket-powered cart to propel through the fog. In the video, Link sets up the cart using Zonai devices, places himself in the center, and activates it. Initially, it seems to work as the rockets push him through the fog. However, this success is short-lived as Link and the cart crash to the ground once the rockets vanish, and the fog instantly engulfs them.
While the rocket cart was a clever idea, there seems to be no way to cheat past the fog. The closest alternative players can try is to descend from the sky and aim for one of the three shrines in the center of the Lost Woods. With an enchanted Glide Armor set, players can land near a shrine without taking fall damage and quickly activate it. However, this only unlocks the shrine. As soon as the activation cut scene finishes, the fog will consume Link.
To breach the fog in The Lost Woods of Tears of the Kingdom, one must solve the puzzle. However, as the game is relatively new, there is a possibility that a resourceful player may discover a quicker method to navigate through the fog. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be played on the Nintendo Switch platform.
